This video is a labor of love for the growing VR community. Since wireless PC VR isn't the most accessible thing as of now, I wanted to spread the word about a cost-effective method. This is not a tutorial; I will be uploading one about the product in question quite soon. For now, here's how to fix the Wireless VR Problem.

  • I honestly been looking for something like this and was about to just buy another expensive router for vr. This $30 option seems perfect! Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for this video. It probably it was on my YouTube, because I was looking this week how to extend my router. I have two TP-Link routers. One is my old 2.4-5ghz model and the other is newer and Wifi6. The newer one turned out that the Wifi part was very slow, compared to the old model. Maybe my setup is wrong, I updated the firmware this week, but it is about 3x slower than the old router. So what I did to improve my signal: I bought the fastest ethernet cable (cat 8). 4 in total: Three 5 meter cables to connect to my two pc's and laptop and a 20 meter cable to connect one router with the other. Unfortunately I had to connect the old router as my gaming router, since the wifi6 router doesn't provide a good signal. The router connected to my pc's is in the same room where I play VR. There is no wall between router and headset and approximately 3 meters space. This allows me to have a speed of around 800 Mbps. But even then I experienced a drop when I played Beatsaber yesterday. My PC has an i5 10th gen and a RTX3080, and plenty of RAM (32gb) and everything runs from an SSD. It has windows 11. My old PC has an i7 4th gen and a GTX1080. My headsets are a Quest2 and a Pico4. At the end of the year I'm planning to buy the Quest3 which should have Wifi 6e and wait with buying a new router until I have that headset. I think that my wifi6 router has a problem. Wired it runs fast, but wireless it is a disaster. Would you say that a Wifi6e router could solve the occasional stuttering in Beatsaber? I played last night half an hour and it happened only once. I remember it used to be much better.
  • I absolutely love Virtual Desktop, but I did have to buy a 20 meter ethernet cable, lol. I am pretty far away from the router and it works real nice

On spot, been using the GL.iNet Opal since last year, works great!

Interesting. How is the little router's range? My two play spaces are directly above/below each other, thought of maybe running it in the drop ceiling in the basement to use it in both spots. Also, any recommendations on a good cheap 6e router to use for the Quest Pro?

I use pcvr without an ethernet cable and it works like butter
  • I did the same, returned the air link thing (wasn't working anyway as I live in canada), and bought the GL AX3000 (same as you did, but wifi 6) and it works flawlessly !! I travel a lot and this thing is perfect for hotels. I also just use a usb a-c and power it from my laptop so I dont have to carry the power brick.

I have an exoensive wifi 6 router im using as dedicated for vr and air link. Looks really good and feels smooth but when i use performance overlay its reporting high ms. Im womdering if debug tool is bugged

You can also just use your wireless motherboard adapter as a hotspot(if your motherboard has wireless). Pretty easy to do without spending any extra money on anything else. Most motherboards even wifi 6e now.
  • If my internet is running to my current router.......how do I get the same internet to this repeater router?
  • @onetruekeeper
WiFi is too slow. Higher bandwidth Rf or IR is needed for improved video.

The mini router keeps logs of everything you do online it’s also a Chinese company, it’s great but use at your own risk.
