My only concern about Beetlejuice two is that it’s going to be a Jennifer Ortega vehicle.

I just hope that they’re not trying to put Beetlejuice in any sort of protagonist role. Because Beetlejuice is supposed to be an irredeemable chaos demon that wants to marry little girls and rule over the land of the living. I also hope that they’re not gonna overuse him in the movie. Beetlejuice is only in the first film for a total of 15 minutes and that served the character very well. Too much, Beetlejuice would most certainly be a bad thing in my opinion. I also hope that they don’t water down the themes of suicide in this film, which was such a prevalent theme in the first one. And from the trailer, it seems to me that Keaton is not as high energy as he was in the first movie and that scares me a little. The first movie Beetlejuice was turned up to 11 and this trailer makes him seem subdued, which is weird to me.
  • No tim and all the writers always said they wouldnt make. Sequel unless it's a perfect script.. so I have high hopes.. either way I'm going to love this!! I'm so glad he'll be in this movie a lot more then the 1st one

A word on the sequel warning he gives, just remember, Burton did Batman Returns. Arguably, one of the best sequels ever made.

Beetlejuice had an edge, an unapologetic weirdness and way to approach death. It was an openly deliciously weird and profane anomaly in the hall of movies. This edge now became pretty standard after so many movies tried and failed at copying its success, if the movie wants a chance to succeed it has to push the edges further in order to surprise us. Making us uncomfortable again to laugh at the horrors of death being nothing but another administration office full of decaying people. Go big or go home.

I hope for the best but expect the worst. That way I can only be pleasantly surprised or not let down. Michael Keaton looks like he's going to carry the movie in any case.

Unfortunately I don't see it being good but definitely will see it. Grew up with this movie and the cartoon. But, Ortega is not the right choice, not sure Ryder can pull it off honestly , the story will probably be overworked and effects will be pushed too far outside the vibe of the first film. I want it to be amazing but it won't be as genuine as the first I fear.

Nice job Saber! Always good to hear from you! Curious as well how the movie ratings will be when it comes out! Hoping it's gonna be good though.
  • I hope this movie will be good 2. I love Tim and Danny. And Johnny ❤. His Willy was okay not best. The 1st Alice was good and part 2 was not as good. I did love all his Batman's. #DisneyDiva

YES…. It will probably suck, but I’ll still go see it.

They better not get any millennial in my Beetlejuice
  • I don't recall Wednesday nor did I recall Tim working being the man behind it.

What was the last legacy sequel that didn't suck? Not being rhetorical here, maybe there was one and I just can;t put my finger on it. But I just got through "Dial of Destiny" and it's been a dispiriting experience.

Great video. I loved the original Beetlejuice and thought the trailer for Beetlejuice 2 was surprisingly decent. But i always worry about any sequel that happens decades after the original. Jenna Ortega is perfect casting as Lydia's daughter though. Hopefully the film is good.

I will enjoy it, but it will suck. I have accepted that a cheap throwback to my childhood is fine. Hopefully it lives up.
  • @CordellPotts
The trailer was basically.. "Hey Remember This? Ready to See it Again?" That isn't a great sign.

Plot hole!! Jeffery Jones can’t return because of his very inappropriate and illegal acts. However, beetle juice the whole concept of the afterlife, wouldn’t we see the character in the afterlife? The dead linger in the after world so writing him off completely is a plot hole
