Agree in every word you said about the deluge, I have it since 1.0 and it is so much better now on 4.0 ..without spending money or learning new concepts, great philosophy. The display question is now solved not by publishing a new device but by service to old customers....great!
  • Nice video and lovely surrounding you are in! Thanks for the mention :) Deluge is great
  • Great (and funny!) run-down of the pros and cons. I had a great time using the Deluge to write songs. Using it live was hard for me because despite the unlimited track length, it's easy to get lost without track info. The MPC One makes setting up the backing tracks a lot easier, but I was much more motivated to use the Deluge creatively. The onboard synth engines sound GREAT! The reverb and delay aren't the best, but they're useful for adding some "sauce" to sounds.

Pretty great (and funny) summary of the pros and cons of this device. It definitely stopped me from spending money on any more gear, that's for sure. I definitely do have my gripes with some of it, but that said, my wish list for features to be added is actually pretty short (Faster stem exporting, using the grid to navigate folder structures, mapping modulation parameters to external gear). I can't sing the praises of the Deluge enough though. It's a fantastic piece of kit, and I use it almost every single day.

You nailed it, Will. The Deluge is all about removing barriers and limits. As for support, Synthstrom Audible gets it. It just keeps getting better. You can even use it as a multitrack audio recorder with virtually limitless tracks. In that regard, it's really like a DAW without the computer. I love that I can build a track completely with its internal patches and then come back to the studio and record audio tracks using my Wavestation, Nord Lead, or MatrixBrute so I can leverage their unique textures in the song. So much to love with this device! Peace.

Very nice overview. Thank you for the video. Subbed for great content. I like your dedication and minimal setup. Less is more. Respect ! Keep doing what you do.
  • that was a very funny way of presenting it, if i were to decide which tool i would like to get, i would probably choose the deluge😁🎼👌

Great run down on the pros and cons. I'd like to add a 6th pro to it: Fantastic build quality! The encoders, the metal front plate, the wooden cheeks. It's all rock solid! Plus, you can easily exchange the built in battery with a new or custom one. It's really a (not so) hidden gem!
  • And now new OLED screen and Open Source! It's much better now! Amazing device.
  • @GKRGY_music
amazing as usual. loved your first video about the deluge, love this one too! I wish you had waited a couple of more weeks to include the OLED!!!!!! it speaks volumes for synthstrom. cheers!
  • Great video really enjoyed it. The Deluge hmmmmm well you have almost sold me on it if only funds would allow. But for the future it has moved up my bucket list and maybe one day.
  • This is a great video - and funny, without being too ridiculous! You cover most all of the great points that us Synthstrom Audible Deluge owner love about this device! I love the 64 voices of polyphony! The only even more awesome point you did not touch on, and it is simply a matter of timing - the latest version of the Deluge now includes a whole new high resolution display so we can read long names and strings of text describing patches, songs and sequences! Of course, I wish you would update this video to include this latest update of this amazing studio in a box and give folks a peek at the new display! And this is another amazing reason to buy this one device - owners of the original Deluge can have their hardware upgraded with the new display! This is an amazing testament of how dedicated this company is to making their one product better all the time!

there's a forked version of the open-source OS where someone's built a 'keyboard' for the drums, eight 4x4 pads with different velocity values under each button. so that's fixed that.

Great video Will, I was and still am on the fence with Deluge, bought Akai Force instead however didn't use it much yet. Lovely to see and hear your home surroundings as well, lovely summer feel!

I’m really enjoying your channel - both your performances and your thoughts on Deluge. I’ve had Deluge for over a year and a half and it’s the center of my live rig and I probably compose 1/2 time on it (other half in Ableton Live). BTW - you can scroll long file names during load by turning top left “Zoom & Scroll” encoder 😀.
  • @jantuitman
I also still love my Deluge very very much. The only thing I am really missing is that you can’t place accidental notes on tracks that use the key, and the fact that the key picked is project wide, I rather had it that you could overrule the project key on each track. I hope they add that in a future firmware!
  • @TyQuinn
The display complaint is now over!
  • @spoony303
Super creative and informative video! Love the dude! I am a big fan of your channel, As I am also a Deluge and Virus user. I’ve always wanted to take the sides of my deluge. How are you finding it useful, and how did you do it? Did you need to plug the holes on the sides with something else?
