Seeing another 100-point game in the NBA seems impossible, but has the recent wave of offense moved the needle?

Not exactly a sound methodology, but in Lukas 73 point game, if he were to have continued his exact shot diet with the same efficiency and taken as many shots as Kobe did to score 81. He was on track to score around 104 points. To me this kind of shows that 100 is within the realm of possible and isn’t 100% unattainable.

Wilt said something like it’s normal to score twice the points you score on an average game. He was around 50points per game that season. Now Embid and Luka are around 35 ==> they scored around 70.

Wilt's 100 points game wasn't just because he's a great scorer; it's also because of his tremendous stat padding against the weakest team. He played 48 minutes even though the game was already decided at the end of the 3rd quarter. Wilt even took his most shots in the 4th quarter and scored most points in the 4th quarter. :face-fuchsia-wide-eyes: The current 2020's are scoring almost as many points as 60's, so it's possible if someone with great scoring ability + great stat padding + playing weak teams.

Not sure we'll see 100 again but i do think we'll see kobes 81 being surpassed and my money would be on someone like luka doing it first
  • Victor in a few year's has the best chance imo! Give him top PG who will feed him, his not afraid to drain 3. He got the same height advantage as Wilt. So for me him. OFC is some 3 specialist like Steph catch fire and drain lets say 70-80% of 3. Chances are slim but not 0 in my opinion.

One of the few ways I could see the 100 point game being broken is if a game goes into multiple overtimes and the player already has over 70 points at the end of regulation. Give them 2 overtime periods and then they'll easily score more than 15 points in each of those two overtime periods to break Wilt's record.

I mean, you need to the primary scorer, with good defense, be on a hot streak, have OT or even double OT and THEN you need to be lucky.

I think luka on a good night could do it. Steph and Kd are maybe outside their prime. Embiid, giannis. I think a player who is the main offensive option of a team with little back up will be the one to do it.

Luka on his day in double overtime he will get 100

100 points is very possible if someone had that intent, 25 points a quarter is not that crazy klay had 37 I think multiple players could (Kd,Curry, luka, dame, kyrie)

The only untouchable record in the NBA belongs to A.C. Green, not Wilt Chamberlain.

This will go viral once Luka does it. Cause he will

The real question is, "Will anyone really care when it does?"

Lebron James last game. I don’t know if he’ll reach 100, BUT I do believe he will top Kobe’s 81. His teammates will dish him the ball, opponents won’t not play defense but they will definitely recognize the importance of the moment and ease off a bit. I think it could happen.
