This is heart breaking but it's now even more so a time to come together as a community. I used this video to talk my heart out and I would love to invite all of you to share your thoughts and feelings as well <3 EDIT: WOW thank you all so much for coming and leaving so many touching and lovely comments, I'm reading all of them and it means a lot!

My son plays dreams he’s 8 and has been creating/playing for 3 years. Dreams is literally his favorite activity. I really don’t want to break this news to him…he will be heartbroken. I absolutely love seeing what he creates and love seeing how much joy he gets from Dreams. The creative outlet it gives him has been amazing. Whenever we would talk to others about the game no one knew what the game was which was saddening. The game is amazing and had great potential…why is it so not known? There are solutions to push it further and make it stronger but they are just giving up. Just sad. 😢

So heartbreaking how short-lived dreams actually was, watching this made me how much of an impact this is going to have. Lots of love and support 💜 was very touching to watch

It's heartbreaking for me as I played Project Spark as well as Dreams it feels Dreams failed in the same way, having a parent company that doesn't realize the potential of it and not having ways to monetize it. Dreams as you mentioned is it's potential is crazy I know how to use Unreal engine and would still prefer Dreams any day simply cause it's more intuitive and a jack of all trades Media Molecule made a masterpiece.

To everyone in these comments - My first contact with MM was the beta for LBP. I built levels, became a part of the community, pushed boundaries and expressed all my creative energy through the tools they gave us. To keep a long story short, all that work I did led to a job working on LBP Vita and LBP3 with a bunch of other people who came from the community. I've worked on lots other games since then and nearly 15 years since I started I am a lead designer for one of the largest studio groups in the world and most of my other friends are still all doing game dev and have moved up in their positions. This may be a sad day because the support is gone, but it is the first day of your new start in the world of game dev - if that's what you want. Jump into Unity or UE5, you'll pick it up in no time. If your DREAM is to make games...go do it!

ugh man..... ive been (aimlessly) meaning to play dreams for a long time, i only got a console a couple years ago but just never got around to playing it.. now to see this video it almost feels like a kick in the stomach, like i didnt get around to it in time 😭
  • @ninjistudio
So sad. I'm making one dreams game since roughly 2 years and now the game is "dying". The community is so lovely
  • Very hard watch. Enjoyed your channel for many years and I have no intention to stop following you either way but I'm glad you'll be sticking with Dreams in part. Sad week for us all hope you're well.
  • Cheers for the shout out -- even if it was a little heartbreaking, tbh :-) And take me down as one vote in favour of releasing The Crystal Guardian in some shape or form -- although that probably won't surprise you ;-)
  • I think I will stay with dreams for now. After I heard the news I didn't even want to look at dreams, I almost Uninstalled right there. But now that I've grieved a little I think I will continue to carry the torch and keep trying to do my part to make dreams greater.

Dreams released in Feb 2020, weeks before the world shutdown. My friends & I all got the game day one of the full release. Throughout 2020-2021 slowly my friends stopped playing & using Dreams. For me I found what Dreams could be for me, I bought the game to try to make games but found out I suck… but what I found I could do was I could make storyboards for my projects. Paid work projects. It became a filmmaker tool for me. I literally just got finishing a storyboard using Dreams on the biggest project of my career. This makes me so sad. This was more than a game maker, this has huge potential.
  • I remember discovering you when Dreams was nearing its launch Sakuu. YOu helped me get motivated on buying the game for my ps4 as well as the ps5 free update version. I truly loved my time I had with the program a ton. I find it sad to hear that sony's and media molucle's partnership ran out. But from what I'm reading on there update. They seem to be having a plan on creating a brand new user creator type software for ps5 down the road. I'm just hopeful it will be equally as entertaining as Dreams was and very similar to it down the road. It gave me a huge Little Big Planet Vibes with more fun tools to play in it. Can't wait to see what media molecule will think of next.

Amico mio! This video was really heartbreaking and touching! I've been following you since the very start, thanks to you I decided to buy Dreams on day one, thanks to you and your tutorials I learned how to sculpt and create in Dreams, thanks to you I started to make my 3d Dreams and projects a reality, like my Metal Gear Solid remake fan art project, which has been an Everest to climb...yet step by step I'm making it, and all of this started with you and your channel! We've shared a lot of thoughts and works, we've supported each other and we will continue to do so! Dreams is not dead, because our Dreams are alive, and even if they will stop supporting it, well we won't because we can still use its endless creative power! But what about if MM finds a way to use the experience they had with dreams to create a real creative tool to let people use it to make and release their own games and creations...? Maybe we could make a petition for that. This is not the end. And if it is, we'll make it a new beginning. Thank you for this journey, anyway, it was a lovely ride, and I'm sure we'll keep travelling together, in our dreams ☺️♥️🥰

Learned a lot of you and hopefully will! Bought Dreams this year with the info of the 10 year contract and 2 weeks later this news 😓
  • @Goldlama
The baby is now in our hand. Let‘s create the best Dreams Creations ever and maybe the world outside of Dreams will get the attention on it. Attention is all. I m keeping on creating

i just got dreams a few days ago to try and build my first game lol i came from fornite creative building to finally finding something worth the creative achievements ive been wanting with learning first hand on development and animations and assets, dreams has really opened my mind to the real dev logics ive never realized were important to making the assets do there thing lol i had a hard time before worrying about coding to make things but dreams made that go away and with its tutorials it helped me see just how much of a trip building a game would be and i loved it lol but now hopefully, im just gonna stay positive and still build on it too for the experience and maybe with enough dreaming theyll, go back on past thoughts and revitalize the ability to create on dreams again and allow us to push out the future of the metaverse with a plethora of multi faceted creations to enjoy, thank you sakku your vids really helped me learn the ropes on sculpting to the point i wondered why your vids wernt tutorials lol

Great video mate. Very personal and your true emotions. I’ve always loved your videos and your amazing talent. I have so many feelings right now and emotional. I also feel hurt and angry and most of all I feel let down 😢 My journey with Dreams is over I’m afraid. I can’t support something that has been abandoned in this way. What hurts most to people like us that have been so invested in Dreams, the community and Mm, is we know what the potential of Dreams could’ve been and we now know it’s never going to reach that potential and that’s such a sad feeling. Our friendships and relationships we have all made, are not defined by Dreams or Mm, theirs no reason they have to change. I’m sure most of the core community will support each other, no matter what the future brings 💖
  • I was gutted when I read Mm's post. Like Sakku, felt sad and empty inside. Later speaking to my sister about it and to my surprise, I broke down in tears. So many mixed emotions, it's personal impact it's had on me in my life. Re-sparking the creative drive to make things again. As a kid making things out of cardboard, making music on a keyboard which I started posting on YT in 2012, or making animated short films with clay. etc. The creative spark stopped due to personal reasons, and didn't make anything else for years. LBP2 was a nice creative distraction for some time. Made few things, and learnt a lot about the logic-based tools. Then Dreams came along. Years of watching Mm livestreams and stage events revealing new features about Dreams whilst it was still in development. The event in which John Beech on stage piecing together a level and Ed showcasing the music tools for the first time... The hype was through the roof. What Mm had created was nothing short of revolutionary. Even though I had not publicly released much in Dreams, I had been planning and making big game projects as well as many other ideas. But like you said, Sakku, these bigger time consuming game projects will now have a big (?) over them now. As for the other things, I'll continue to working on. such as music (which I'll be posting on YT at some point) and hopefully continue making The Lady Gotham Show (Animations for her YT channel/My Sister) If they don't completely disable the Audio Importer anytime soon. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'll always remain subbed to your channel Sakku, and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. It'll be interesting to see where you go next, and what other game creators do moving forward (when it comes to making their ambitious games elsewhere).

Only we can keep it alive! With your help, Sakku. I literally can't do it without your videos :P

It's a real shame. A light went out inside me when I heard this news 🥺
