Assassin's Creed Valhalla: A Rivalry for the Ages Quest Glitch [FIX] & HowTo Get By Red Barred Doors

To work around this you will need:
Heavy Dual Wield skill
2 two handed weapons (I used the axe primary and sword secondary)
It's key to have an axe primary as your character will do a dual over head swing
As you can see in the video I tried different combos of weapons and attacks which didn't work until I used the two dual wield weapons and a heavy attack.

i had the same issue on PS5, but i managed to sort it. if you got to were the quest 'The Demon Odor At The Tithe' is (Not far from this quest) grab a jar of fish oil from the barn, then run back to were this quest is and go round the back of the house to the back door, throw the jar at the back door and it gets covered in oil. then throw a torch at it and it breaks the red lock on the inside allowing you to get the item.

Didn’t work but if you go SW of there to words the docks there is a side quest to help a guys stuck in the building but there are a ton of blue breakable jars that are flammable, I took one of those and brought it over to the door and threw it at it and it opened the door Had to do it twice tho

Equiping the axe and longsword and pressing both the trigger buttons at the same time worked for me. Thanks!!

I have a problem with a glitch after doing scorched earth in this game because now I can't finish the main quest on the ps4

Well, on the PC none of these work-arounds work anymore. Funny how they can patch/fix the work-arounds so we can't do them anymore, but they still not fixed these (and many other) game breaking f@ck ups in this game.

Nothin works still, you think they would fix it or do something about it by now

You can literally walk up to Maximilian during the day now, speak to him and pay 130 silver for him to open the door for you and you go in and grab the statue. No key required and no breaking the lock to get in like you did in this video.

I got the door by using the dive of the valkyries ability with a 2 handed axe and sword

this is bs I got the statue on me and the event still says it needs to be done and now the dude that was not able to be killed outside that door can be killed this game needs some serious attention now

I equipped the exact same weapons as you and he does not do that attack. Its broken
