Today we're testing one of our sweetest theories ever! Can you make cookies from Cookie Dough Ice Cream? And if so, are they actually good? Well today, Steph and I put it to the test with a variety of different ice cream brands.

I love that Pillsbury knows enough people eat their cookie dough raw that they started making it actually pretty safe to do so.
  • @ShortHax
Imagine being the poor soul that gets the ice cream out of the freezer only to find that all of the cookie dough pieces have been surgically removed

A few brands, like Toll House, are selling straight up edible cookie dough in a tub. It says on the label not to bake it, so I want Mat and Steph to bake it instead and see how it compares between actual cookies and these ice cream cookies.
  • Fun note, I’ve heard the reason that Ben and Jerry’s had the most chunks is because one of them, I think Ben, has no sense of smell or at least very limited, so he prefers ice cream with more texture so he can enjoy it without having to be able to taste it as well
  • @Patterrz
nothing looks sadder than warm ice cream
  • I still want to see a FOOD THEORY on: DOES CHICKEN SOUP ACTUALLY HELP HEAL A COLD?
  • @devilish4480
Hearing Steph saying she is scared of escalators made me laugh so hard cause I’m absolutely terrified of them
  • @drigondii
I imagine each of those “cookie doughs” would also need its own fine tuning for baking time and temperature
  • @Jcat_Nguy23
"I can assure you, that Edy's slow-churned cookie dough dough is not going to be the same as...edy's...slow churned cookie dough dough..." the look of pure confusion lmaooo
  • I'm reminded of Mark and Ethan trying this, with Mark getting it out by eating the icecream and spitting the dough out into a bowl.
  • Eating some dippin dots cookie dough right now. Far and away the easiest cookie dough to extract if you ever revisit this.

The fact that MatPat has watched Nailed it makes me feel really happy because Nicole Byers and Jacques Torres are freaking hilarious.
  • something i love about dear ole Mat and a few others is that they arent using the kids intentionally for content, sometimes they pop up but its not deliberate (at least from my POV) and its just apart of life.

Can we just appreciate how ollie’s art is hanging on the fridge in the background
  • This video only did 1 thing for me, convince me to make my own frozen cookie dough bites using raw cookie dough and place them in ice cream.
  • @carabkb
MatPat infiltrated my dream last night. I was listening to one of his videos, and my subconscious could still hear him. 😆😆😆
  • Everyone knows that you have a risk of getting sick from eating cookie dough, but it feels like it's worth it from the taste alone.

This video really highlights what I like most about this channel, the fact we get to see Mat and other members of Team Theorist just goofing around with food stuffs. Obviously their getting actual findings and doing actual experiments, but the energy given off in these videos is much more relaxed and feels like Team Theorist is bringing you into their home to talk about foods. Unlike the other channels (which i still absolutely adore so dont get the wrong idea) which both have much more of a presenter feeling where the fact cold hard facts are being given to you is really pushed to the forfront. Don't get me wrong, I love all 3 theory channels regardless, but I have to be in a specific "learning" mood for the other channels, whereas it doesn't matter what mood im in im always happy to watch food theory.
  • I’m actually surprised that ANY of these made a passable cookie! I love m’y B&J cookie dough ice cream but I never assumed it was something you could actually use as cookie dough. It always just seemed like of those things were they tried to get it to taste right and look right but wasn’t actually cookie dough. Interesting!
