Who are Jon and Daenerys’ ancestors, the Valyrians? What caused the Doom of Valyria? Did the Faceless Men cause the Doom? How is Lannister gold involved?

The Doom of Valyria would be a great spin off for the series. The end is quite well known, but the process to get there, be it magical, political or a combination of both, would be a marvel to uncover.
  • "It was like Ancient Rome but with incest" Ah yes, ancient Egypt
  • Alt Shift X: the area was dominated by geese. By old geese. Me, listening instead of looking at the screen: What? Alt Shift X: An Empire built on slavery. Me, still not having looked at the screen: WHAT

Man I can't even imagine how one man namely GRRM came up with this whole story. It sounds just like actual history and goes so many years in the past than what we see in the show.

Don't you love Rhaegars kids, Rhaenys, Aegon and Aegon.
  • Fun fact: The Targaryens weren't the only Dragonlords to survive. Lord Aurion was in Qohor when the Doom struck. Once the scope of the destruction became clear, and it became evident the Targaryens were not looking east, Aurion made his move. Ignoring the stories of curses and haunted ruins, he raised a host of 30 000 men and marched to the ravaged capital, declaring himself Emperor of the Freehold reborn. Not a single man from that army was ever seen or heard from again...
  • In Martin’s prequel/spinoff book, “Fire and Blood”, a child flies to Valyria on a dragon. When she returns, she is full of centipedes/worms that are eating her alive from the inside. So someone HAS returned from Valyria alive…she just didn’t last long!

Holy shit that transition to your sponsor was amazing lol. Also very good video as always. Love these

I think we need to take a step back and use Occam's Razor here instead of spinning wild mystery tales. Why attribute the eruption of these (probably connected) volcanoes to magic eggs and a cult of death-worshipping assassins using some magic artefacts to cause a cataclysm when the is a much simpler and more realistic explanation: A tired slave lost control of the cart he was pulling through the mines, and the cargo - half a dozen large barrels of vinegar - rolled downhill where they crashed into the well stocked baking soda depot.

The only TSOIAF channel I've found that provides actual knowledge about the lore and involves logic into the speculations, instead of taking the craziest stories and trying to prove them. A lot of awesome content here, based mostly on books, not only from the saga, no stupid clickbaits, no ridiculous theories based on random sentences or pure coincidences, no frickin' "Season 8 Hot-Pie-killing-The-Night-King-With-A-Kitchen-Knife FINALLY PROVEN" kind of bullshit. Most of Your theories have a lot of sense and I'd love to see them happen in the books or in the series. Some great work here, good job, love to watch Your movies. Also, sponsored content at it's finest - nice, funny transition and great product to talk about.

The Doom is a lot like the Burning of the Library of Alexandria. So much knowledge of the ancient world gone from a single flame.
  • HBO made Valyria look like a damn vacation spot. Ridiculous. 😂😂😂
  • Arya: "He should've slayed the masters instead". This is one of the reasons I believe Arya will like Dany. Nothing like the show.
  • @Emajenus
If Euron is indeed a skinchanger or a failed disciple of the three-eyed raven, he may have seen Valyria through the eyes of something that's not human.
  • So the Targaryan's used Chaos as a ladder to rule over the ashes of what was left of Valyria? Sounds a little... fingerish to me.
  • @SofiaKallene
"Valyrians were basically nazis with dragons", that sounds terrifying but epic and makes me wonder who their equivalent to Hugo Boss was.
  • @SleepySloth2705
When Jorah and Tyrion went through Valyria, can imagine them passing by a pedestal with a valyrian inscription that translates to "Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"

Gotta hand it to ya, "learn how to forge your own family sword" is the best pitch for skillshare I've ever heard.
