How should a company share it's values? | Q+A

Values are things we do.

The values we share with our employees should be actionable. Choose "Always tell the truth" instead of "Honesty." By writing down our company's values and Cause, we inscribe not what our company does - but the world our company is trying to help build.

Values in a company are very important because they allow everyone to work towards the goal of that company!

Working for many different corporates in my time, I can definitely say that many of them must rethink - especially after watching this video! Thanks Simon!

We often talk about values. But before, I've never thought about the fact that they really should be actionable. I completely agree with you
  • @TaraWagner
I agree! Values written down become values that we can act on. I love how plainly you put it. They are very much like underlying motivators and definitely important for all businesses and entrepreneurs.

I think a very important meta-value that companies often forget or are unaware of (which leads to their downfall when not applied) is "we are here to do _____, but the way we do it can change".
  • How you communicate your message is as important as the message itself, great video
  • Excellent content, as always. Thank you for sharing your insights! I really got a lot out of Leaders Eat Last when it comes to sharing values and culture. I can't wait to read Infinite Game next month!
  • The 5.0 is creeping on my most favorite people that roam the earth... 1973 came to rock our world and I look forward to the benevolence our higher power has so divinely prepared. Remaining open-minded, honestly and willing, while maintaining respect loyalty and trust the Connection Campaign might Rock the Bell... I'm in love with our future humanity ❤

You know what people want: We all want a value-driven life. I.e. "I want to go to work because the work matters!"

Simon & Jordan Peterson should have a stage discussion. That I’ll be so excited about.

The value shall be actionable and doable stated in writing so everybody will understand. Instead of saying "being honest," Say: "Always tell the truth," Instead of saying to be innovative, Say: "Look at the problem from different angles"
  • I just finished reading a review on a company I used to work for. It was not good! The previous president spoke, walked, lived and breathed honest values to his employees and to the clients. The core values of the company, were practiced as a culture. Then the reins were handed over to his son, and the values changed to the "bottom line." A culture that takes the "human" out of the equation, for both the employee and the clients.🤔
