    FYI, the pummeler doesn't actually stagger like other stagger weapons— in fact, it stuns them. Kind of insane

    i think the 50% chance to not die from lethal damage is way better. Because while the 50% explosive resistance is nice, it only works for explosions. while the lethal one works for every single damage type. Whether thats a bullet, a rocket or a melee. It can also work against flamethrower hulks, if you drop to 0 but the armor saves you, you get extinguished. saved me many times. idk if it has heavy armor though so that 5% resistance difference is the tradeoff.

    My recimendation is: play whatever fits your gameplay the best. We are not a regular infantry. We are the HELLDIVERS, so we can use whatever weapon we like the most. That's why we can choose weapons and stratagems before the mission start. Don't listen to the "meta coaches". Just do your part.

    I'd add the caveat that the factory strider's turret is the only dangerous weapon to *you*. For anyone without the ballistic shield, the factory strider's chin gatling guns are by far and away the biggest threat. And that's in isolation. If you are in a situation where other enemies have a reasonable chance of knocking you down, those chain guns also pose the bigger threat to you. Against bots specifically, I'd put the Eagle Airstrike above the 500kg. The Eagle Airstrike can one-shot everything the 500kg can. Tanks, hulks, turrets, they all die to the Eagle Airstrike. The Eagle Airstrike also has a greater impact area and more uses. The 500kg's superior damage is therefore wasted against every automaton except the factory strider, which can often be tackled by neutering and isolating it anyway rather than trying to blow through its hp all at once at the expense of not dealing with other enemies and putting all your stratagems on cooldown.

    I would drop the 500kg in favor of an orbital or a turret, running more than one eagle leaves you open to awkard rearmings and the airstrike already one shoot everyrhing except for the strider, you get more uses and it covers a bigger area, agaisnt the automatons the airstrike is way better than the 500Kg Orbital precision is a good alternative since it fires a 380 Rocket and can one shot towers and it has a low cooldown, the 380 barrage is great for clearing heavy bases/mortars/anti air and covering the extract (trow it at around 70m away from you) , walking barrage is another great alternative since its easier to predict and has an insane reach, pair them with the salvo assisted perk. The auto cannon turret drops hulks in an instant

  • It makes me so happy to see people use Ballistic Shield + Laser. I ran this before both of them got buffed, and it wasn't great but it was a ton of fun. Now with the buffs and the Pummeler, it is still every bit as fun, but also super good.

    I've been running this exact build (except preferring precision strike for detectors instead of 500kg) for the past couple weeks and can confirm you're effective against anything automatons can throw at you. I jump between the laser cannon and the AMR though. The AMR gives me an edge at range while the shield + SMG is mostly useful for storming a base. And it's still effective at all the same targets. Very fun

    NGL the Pummeler for me is the best weapon in the game right now against both. meat saw? 1 round stunned! Stalker on your ass? 1 round stunned! Devastator? 1 round stunned! Just stun them all, take a condor moment, aim at a weak point or just empty you mag in them. Against bots though, Pummeler and the Ballistic Shield is amazing!
