This video is my review of the AccuQuilt GO Big Fabric Cutter. I bought this machine 2nd hand with my own money and all the opinions expressed are my own.

In this video I compare the AccuQuilt GO Big with the Accuquilt GO cutter. I cover the differences in functionality, size & price. I also give you two ways to get a bargain on an Accuquilt cutter.

I have a Sizzix big shot and cut borders and binding for quilts on my strip dies. Very handy.
  • I LOVE my AccuQuilt Go Big!! As I have often said I wouldn't be quilting without my Go Big. I have RA in my hands and can't hold a rotary cutter. Yes it's expensive but so are good sewing machines. And you can use the dies for years without wearing them out and the mats last a long time too. AccuQuilt says that there is no problem with the die falling out the other end of the Cutter. It's designed to work that way. Many users make a shelf to catch the Die at the other end. I made mine from a box stuffed with Junk Mail and taped shut. I think the Go Big is the best thing since the rotary cutter. PS I do have a Go Me but I've never used it. It was a freebie but I don't need it

I bought my Accuquilt GO cutter at the local thrift store. It was new. I paid $100. Never even knew what it was! LOL!
  • I really appreciate you showing the details and differences of these cutters. I've been curious about them but don't see them as a necessity. One day I will probably splurge and buy one, and you've given me the info I need to make an informed decision. Thank you 🎉
  • Thank you. Very informative. Would love to see one of your projects that used the AccuQuilt.
  • @TerryCowans
Adorable to listen to your rational to purchase it! We all do this! Thanks for sharing!

I have the baby GO cutter. I put fusible on back of my cuts. Love it
  • One downfall of the electric happened to my friend. Her electric go had a part go in it. We live in Canada. There is no company/ distributor that is licensed to repair them in Canada. She had to pay to have it shipped to the US to get a small part that was inexpensive and a large price to ship it. She found a bit of a workaround due to being close to the border/ family in the US. I am mixed about buying one. I could use one due to shoulder problems i am currently having. But it is a luxury item. Still sitting on the fence. If a deal came i would grab it. I have used my friends. It is sad that the company does not have service in the countries they are selling them.

I have the Go! Purchased it a few years ago when they offered a bundle.

I love my go big machine. It has made my quilting so much easier. I suffer from ME so I see it as an essential tool. Enjoy your machine. Happy quilting ❤
  • @jshipard54
Great video Thank you. I brought the Go big last year and yes it was expensive but it’s much easier on my shoulder and wrist. I brought a cube set that was on sale but haven’t used it yet but I had to have it 😂😂. If you ever have time I’d love to see you do a video on using a cube set or a quilt made using the cube set 😉 ❤️
  • @sallysmith6543
Well explained 👍. I’ve got the Accuquilt Go 8”. It’s a bit fiddly with the small pieces but I’ve done a small lap quilt. I don’t mind winding the handle, the electric one is expensive- I’ll have to look for a bargain 😉
  • @sueduquemin7119
I have the Go cutter which I love as I cut 3000 2.5 inch squares on it.
  • @janeausten1368
I also have the AQ Go Big, bought second hand a couple of years ago. I'd be lost without it! Last year I bought a job lot of dies for a bargain price. I now have more dies than i will ever use. Much as I love using the machine, I wince at the cost of the cutting mats.
  • @Kathleen58
That is for sure, we spend a lot on our hobby. I just bought a brother Stellaire EX 1 embroidery machine with the upgrade EX2 . I’d been wanting an embroidery machine for a long time, I finally got it. Now I need to get a new printer….😂!
  • I don't have any die cutters. A concern I have about them is the storage requirements of all the dies. For my needs, i think I'll manage with my rotary cutters and collection of pairs of scissors!
