If you've been on the channel before, you know Katie and I love everything old, and that includes clothes. We feel that older clothing was made better, looks better and is more comfortable than modern clothing. Now, that's not to say that we don't own any modern clothing at all, but we typically try to find older clothing. We love looking for clothes at thrift shops, yard sales, consignment stores and even online at places like Ebay and Etsy.

Drop a comment and let us know what kind of clothes you like or don't like to wear. As always, thanks for watching and God bless you!

  • I’m a 72 year old Grammy and I love seeing you girls and hearing what you like and don’t like. You are so refreshing, and have so much wisdom for being so young.
  • Older clothes are more feminine, made better , quality natural materials, more modest, more stylish. Stands the test of time

I have been teased at 60, for refusing to wear anything that shows too much skin. I really don't care what they say I'd rather wear something old fashion that looks nice and covers everything that needs to be covered.

You girls are a breath of fresh air. Wouldn't it be nice if this became a thing amongst younger people? I'm 68 and I have a hard time finding affordable clothing that I like. All the new stuff looks and feels so cheap.

my mom, now 97, now in her journey of dementia, made a cool comment while we were going thru her 'old' coats that dont fit. laying them out, side by side next to the 'new' she said... ' not only do the new coats actually lack quality and craftsmanship, but they look like it. then she sentimentally held each coat in hand and talked about the times she wore them. commenting on how she wished they had on some shelf in some warehouse somewhere this exact coat, just a larger size.

You young ladies are a credit to your generation. For me, being older than 55, most modern clothing is I'll fitting. Many of the styles are also way too revealing. Besides that newer clothes are made shabbily. My Mom taught me to thrift shop when I was a teenager.
  • I remember learning about "planned obsolescence" and how many companies make electronics and other gadgets to breakdown within a certain time frame so that customers will keep buying more and more. Honestly, anymore, I think every company has adopted the same mentality now, even clothing companies. They don't want to make clothes that last in my opinion. They want you to keep buying their brand of clothes so that they'll make more money. Buying older clothes makes sense and is a great idea.
  • “It’s like wearing a garbage bag with a neck hole!” 🤣 Now that’s priceless. I’m gonna remember that one.

I'm a 1952,70yr old southern Ga. lady and I was your age in the seventies. Don't worry about wearing vintage clothes they're all coming back around anyway! Love you girls!
  • @Melanie-33
God bless you both! Modesty is never out of style and it does my heart good to hear you both talking about staying modest in today's crazy world. Thank you for being yourselves!
  • Amen to modesty ! Thank y'all for being leaders for other girls.
  • I'm older than dirt and I don't wear modern clothes. At my age, I have decided to dress like I want to. I figure if people stare, that's a risk they take with their eyes 😁 I taught1840 living history for many years and I feel very comfortable in long skirts and bodices that I make based on historic clothes. You girls were raised right by good people! Nice truck also!

I grew up wearing bib overalls and flannel shirts. My mom used to get mad at me for wearing bibs everywhere. She told me I couldn't wear denim bibs to church....so I bought some white painter bibs for church. Now I'm 65 years old and still wearing bibs. Love that you have the courage to be who you are. Especially like your concern for modesty. I really appreciate that.
  • You girls are speaking my language! About a year ago, I started making my own clothes. I wanted to wear more dresses and skirts (and I mostly don’t like what’s available in stores), I wanted to wear natural (as opposed to synthetic) fabrics, I wanted clothes that were more well made and would last, and I like the feeling of wearing something I’ve made myself. I’m teaching my daughter to see as well. Beyond that, we mostly use the thrift store for our clothes these days - mostly because of prices, but also because I’d rather not support fast fashion.
  • Old coats were so well made. All my coats are from the 30’s and 40’s and have lasted me my whole adult life.
  • I love the idea that there are still young ladies who prefer to get dressed modestly.☺️❣️
  • I rarely buy clothing since the "disposable fashion" trend took hold over 10 years ago. Five percent of our landfills are now nothing but textile waste. Fortunately, I spent years buying vintage clothing in thriftstores, and am stocked up for 20+ years.
  • I watched the video about not going to town. It just caught my attention. I am the same way. I have been hooked on the channel ever since. It is so refreshing to see young people with good old fashioned morals. Your parents raised some good kids. Wish I could live in the mountains. Thanks for the great content.
  • I got so attached to William Morris fabric and made myself a purse. I get so many compliments on it and it only took a few days to make. He was a designer in the 1880s.

Older clothing is made better with high end quality material. I thrift every chance I get. Watching your videos is so REFRESHING 🌸🌿🐦🌷🐚🦋🐿🇺🇸
