How to Find, Tame and Use Allays in Minecraft 1.20

Allay: what is my purpose? You pick up eggs. Allay: oh my God!

i use these by taking them to the nether and giving them a ghast tear, you just shoot the ghast with bow and he will go get the tear while u are safe from lava and other mobs

Also, if you give them a trap door, or pressure plate, it looks like the Allay is holding a tablet like a toddler.

One of my allays literally just saved me tons of time and effort. I flew high in the sky with my Elytra just to have some of the monsters near my base despawn, but while landing I lost control and crashed and died. Later, when I went back to the place I died to collect my stuff, I had collected everything except my Netherite Silk Touch Pickaxe which I was somehow unable to find. So I brought my Allay with me, gave it my Fortune Netherite Pickaxe, and it searched for some time and eventually gave me my Silk Touch pick back. Allays are awesome!

Would be cool if they became a light source when you give them a torch.

I really hope Mojang could find a way to make the Allay renewable. I suggest that after an Evoker is killed, any leftover vexes can be "de-corrupted" into allays by throwing a Bottle o' Enchanting, just like how zombie villagers can be cured with a splash potion of weakness and a golden apple.

highly worth noting since the release of the video a major change has been made where allay’s can be duplicated/breed simply have a jukebox and any music disc playing, within a few second the allay should be dancing then give it an amethyst shard it’s the first mob that can breed alone not needing a second, and any music disc works even ones like stal, the new warden one, and the nether based one(:

The “Allay” and “Vex” being named appropriate contrasting words is something that completely flew over my head. Wow.

A lot of people thought this was gonna be some sort of item duplication or something. I personally think it's a nice pet, but there's not a crazy ton of use in things like farms unless you afk

Can tamed Allays keep up with the elytra speed? You know, just in case the closest mansion would be 10K blocks away from spawn. 😉

You're a very chill person if you were recording the video and audio at the same time when the vindicator attacked at 0:30. I would've had a heart attack if it came out of nowhere and get me to half a heart. Bravo dude! 😅

Allays will make for very useful pets in survival building not having to drop down for any dropped blocks

Also something not covered In the video. The Allay will attack nearby sculk shriekers when in the deep dark biomes. Virtually nullifying the effects of them alerting the warden

Allays are blue. The souls in the ancient city are blue. Both were added at the same time. Could allays be souls and the pillagers are simply capturing them so the sculk can't spread?

11:32 Actually, according to the Mojang introduction page for this mob, if you give an ally an amethyst shard while it’s dancing near a note block it’ll duplicate itself.

I’ve been away from this game for a long time. First thing I thought of was bringing a few of these guys along with you to mine caves. Give each one a ore of interest, and have them retrieve ores you mine from the ceiling after they’ve fallen to the ground so you don’t have to backtrack all the way down in order to pick them up. Honestly so cool

I think this new mob is super cute, they kind of remind me of faries. The only thing is, I wish they came in different colors.

Beware of bamboo forests! Alleys tend to get stuck between the bamboo. They can also get stuck on 1x1 glasspane windows in villeges. Even though they are very good at following the player i recommend keeping an eye on them.
