I used to make something similar to this with my students using fencing boards cut to about 12 inches. They got to sand, paint and decorate with material and stuff as a family gift. The kids loved it.

I'm curious why you chose to sharpie the face rather than paint. Was there a specific reason? I love how this turned out. So super cute! I like snowmen.
