I'm one of the Nonbinary chatters and I do have a few things about the clove situation. 1. Yes, Clove is a video game character. They aren't going to be hurt by your comments, but it's not about them. Representation is important to some people. While having a Nonbinary character isn't what most of us are going to ask for, we are grateful that we have one. 2. Things online can influence in real life. We've literally seen that too many times. 3. Freedom of speech is fine, but remember, that doesn't mean that you won't have consequences. Also, it's someone's stream. Are you the streamer? No. You're the viewer. You don't decide what the rules are. This is his community, if you want to say things or do things that are against the rules, then you'll be banned. It's really simple

some people don’t have the emotional maturity or empathy to understand that people gravitate to characters for certain reasons and that character becomes special to the player. many people are fond of clove because clove is non-binary and the players see themselves in clove. when you bash clove because the character is meant to go by they/them then you are actively denying the existence and experiences of the clove players (or any player) that go by they/them. (which doesn’t feel very good.) nobody calls sage a he or gekko a she because the characters have pronouns that corresponds to them which were given by the devs. if you can’t even call a video game character by their intended pronouns then you won’t respect pronouns of people in real life either. that’s not to say that you can’t mess up every once in a while, but as long as you apologize and move on then nobody has a problem. also for the love of God, “free speech” does not mean that you are free from the consequences of what you said…

Nah sometimes I think Joshseki chat are either really crazy or really wholesome no in between. Also I love Josh's Clove talk here. It was very calm, clear, and concise. I loved it!

Why are so many people PURPOSELY calling clove, A VIDEO GAME CHARACTER, the wrong pronouns. I understand when people accidentally use the wrong pronouns, that’s a genuine mistake, but misgendering a VIDEO GAME CHARACTER??? That’s wild.

I dont know how many times it has to be explained but.... Freedom of speech protects you from the GOVERNMENT, not from private corporations or entities. Your chat is a private entity and people are NOT free to say whatever they want!!!!!
