Hopefully in the next instalment of the franchise we'll find out who is this evil resident and why are there 8 of them

If Resident Evil has taught me anything, it’s never be a helicopter pilot.
  • @FentonWenge
Excella was originally going to have two sisters named Wordda and PowerPointta, but they were cut due to time and budget constraints.

I liked the part when Whesker took over the mansion and said "now it is I who is the resident that is evil"

Imagine being a helicopter pilot in the Resident Evil universe where every mission is a suicide mission The real unsung heroes

"and then Wesker sits there like 'I am so cool'" is actually funny because that is like 70% of his arc through all the games and he IS cool

Chris was affected by uroboros, but he was one of the chosen, so it gave him the strength he needed to punch the boulder.
  • I cannot believe you dedicated an entire hour to this but God I'm so glad you did.

I was literally just binging Expleens today, this couldn't have been more perfect timing. Thanks Billionaire Bois!

57:38 “Emotionally Constipated” is one of the best and most fitting descriptions of Chris Redfield I’ve ever heard.

You omitted to mention that, at the distance Chris and Sheva are from the lava, they would, at the very least, have their lungs burned by the hot air. They'd be dead in seconds. Even more likely, they would also suffer fourth degree burns.
  • @Westile
35:43 Wesker doing a 180 degree dash towards you in 0.001 seconds is absolutely terrifying

Man, this game looked incredible back in 2009. It's aged, as of course everything going for semi-realism does, but it's stylized so it's really not bad at all. The story even has good moments, even though they're in an overly-whacky script. Even silly stuff like Chris's absurd arms are explained in the story. He got jacked so he could combat Wesker again if he needed to, which ultimately succeeds when Chris manages to be able to push a superhumanly strong opponent, even if only a little. Something which Wesker even acknowledges as impressive with the look on his face. Even though it's a mixed bag, I look back on this game fondly. It has issues, and is certainly no masterpiece, but the people who made it really cared and it shines through.

I am starting to think that umbrella corp isn’t the good, god loving, freedom fighting company they say they are.
  • I know this is kind of stupid, but it is a pet peeve of mine: Shouldn't Jill have been the one to fire a rocket at Wesker alongside Chris? I mean, from a series standpoint it would've been much more satisfying that the protagonists of RE1 are the ones who gets to "finish the fight" with the antagonist of RE1. Jill got kinda robbed of that moment, and it's always bothered me.

one of the unwritten laws of the universe is it's physically impossible to talk about this game without mentioning Chris' fucking ridiculous boulder-punching sequence God I love this game so much, seriously
  • @CErra310
That bit where Sheva was about to sacrifice herself for Chris actually got me a bit emotional even though it's probably like the third-dumbest moment in the franchise
