Robert Palmer - Simply Irresistible (Live in NYC - 1997)

Let’s review why this is the ultimate version of this song: Robert Palmer’s next-level energetic delivery (far different than the album version); Max Weinberg’s surreally hard-kick drumming; a bassist who matches Max’s drumming with one or the tightest performances I’ve ever heard; horns that are impeccable; tight studio-grade vocals; audio mixing and production levels that are off the charts. In short, from the suits to the performance, this was seriously professional.

Legitimately one of the best singers of all time. This is pure class.

The man was one of a kind. He died WAY too young. Few made it look as effortless, and yet made it sound as good as Robert Palmer. He simply oozed class from every pore.

I was given free tickets to one of his concerts and I went not knowing who he was....and the show was simply outstanding!

MAX WEINBERG on the drums? Man that dude has played with the best and Robert Palmer is among the greats for sure. Legends!

Who’s still listening in 2021? RIP to the one and only Robert Palmer. Gone far too soon.

Love when Robert cracks up a bit during the last verse.  I believe he was going to say another word other than "kissable".  : )  Eddie Martinez is a beast on guitar.  He worked with Robert on several albums and tours.  I was fortunate enough to see Robert and Eddie together on three different tours.  Three of the highest packed energy shows I have ever seen. When I saw him on the "Riptide" tour and "Addicted To Love" was blowing up the radio, Robert actually forgot the words to "Addicted" for a few seconds. He had the same reaction as here. He and a few other band members just laughed it off and he kept going. Not a whole lot of chatter from Robert between songs. The man and his band just came out and wailed for over 2 hours! Such wonderful memories! : )

Max makes playing the drums look so easy... he doesn't even break a sweat!

THIS artist and THIS band together = meant to be.  What a damn perfect pairing.
