This game feels very Hello Neighbor equivalent in terms of jankiness...like, the concept is there and its unique, but while technically playable its just too unpolished to be enjoyable

I agree with MatPat on this very topical issue of the eclipse. Not only the fact that it instantly gets dark - you get cold instantly. Crickets start chirping. In the day. Owls can hoot if you're out in the woods. It's not night. It's not day. It's not a time. It is an ethereal, otherworldly experience, and if you've seen a partial solar eclipse, you have NOT seen an eclipse. I missed this last one but went to the one previously... I keep wishing I'd skipped work for it.

I absolutely thought this was the other zoo game you covered about the virus around a zoo and you're a keeper and thought they absolutely titaniced the quality, animals, and story and was horrified for like 3 seconds. I'm glad I was wrong, lmao.

I also am a changed eclipse person. I was complaining all week about how excited everyone was. My mother lives in a small town adjacent to ours about ten minutes away. Has a huge hill that’s all cleared and we have parties at the top. It was weird when I went total dark. It was so quiet it got way darker then I ever thought it would. You could feel in the air how significantly colder it was. Her chickens were freaking out after the sun came back out

I didn't get to see the totality, but I did watch a Flat Earther blind themselves by staring at the eclipse for 20 minutes. He told me the sun was actually the core of the earth, and many and varied other insane things, and then after staring at the eclipse (that I explained all the reasons why it was bad to do so), he turned and told my mother that she had an aura of power around her (because his vision was damaged from staring at the eclipse)

I know people are rightfully pointing out the similarities to Zoocosis, but from what I can see this game actually has some really interesting ideas of its own. The idea of having to sacrifice light sources to replenish your ammo is amazing for a horror game.

This man is definitely gonna like zoochosis then, can’t wait to see mat playing it when it comes out

As the resident icelandic viewer, let me just say that the midnight sun without blackout curtains is absolutely awful. I went two years as a teenager with no curtains before getting them, and let me say, Ash is right so right. The sun being out all the time is literally so chill. You can go out on a walk literally ANY time of the day and FEEL safe (you are safe when it's dark too, but it feels a lot safer walking around in the light). That being said, in the winter, we only get like four hours of sun, and that makes a lot of people's mental drop.

When I first saw that the reload mechanic was taking bulbs from the environment, I thought you were going to be slowly engulfing the stage in darkness to make it scarier as you keep going... but the bulbs just regenerate. Seems like such a missed opportunity

Did Ash name this episode because it is so beautifully unhinged and accurate and I absolutely love it.
