God Bless you guys! I'm Filipino, and when I heard about the typhoon, I immediately thought about the animals there, especially the helpless stray animals. For a sec I didn't think people really cared and focused on the animals, as much as the citizens that are struggling right now. I'm just glad you guys were able to show love for the animals as well.
  • Thank you for caring caring to dogs from disaster. You are a hero. May you continue doing this and God bless you....

We are in Miami. Hurricane Andrew came… and tho we were devastated (at least NO flood!) we stayed with all our many dogs (we do rescue) and the horses were what worried me the most. The barn fell around them but they were enclosed and survived. All our cats were brought into the house with us and when the house came apart we all scattered for a safe place.. but thank God, we all lived through it. 300 horses down here died.. 1000 dogs and cats went thru the ASPCA and HSUS Mash Unit that was set up for 5 weeks. These people lived in tents and trailers, rinsed off in the hose water, ate MRE meals and worked from dawn to midnight taking in animals found wandering, or dropped off, or hit by car or shot.. all the fences were down and everyone was ARMED protecting their generators and whatever animals they might have survived with.  SAD. NEVER want to go thru that horror again, and I feel deeply what these poor people.. and their pets.. not only went thru but what they are facing for at least the next year. The storm leaves but leaves nothing but hard work and depression and loss in its wake.. and it takes a LONG time until life gets close to anything called normal. Bless the big organizations like HSUS and the ASPCA. We small rescuers do what we can, but in Andrew and Katrina.. and now this one.. it takes a LOT of manpower and funding to make a dent!
