I currently work as a contract employee for a company and I love it. I am my own boss and it’s been a lot more flexible with have a toddler running around. I do have an illustration business too. It’s been a blessing to be my own boss.

I think your videos about making YouTube your job was how I found you way back when! Now I own multiple of my own businesses and support our family full time, since my husband got laid off last year. You planted the proprietorship seed in my brain 🥹❤️

Hey Nikki 💖 I love this it's so cozy :) I love seeing what you've been up to. You've been my favorite YouTuber for so long. Thanks so much for sharing with us :) hope you're doing well 🤗

I wonder if laminating the cracker dough with the butter would make a better texture. Also a brown butter game changer is milk powder. You toast the powder in a pan till its golden you can keep it in a mason jar and add it to any brown butter recipe. Milk powder is basically the milk solids that brown in the butter so adding the milk powder just intensifies the complexity.
  • Your chat was SO encouraging! It was definitely I feel like affirmation of a future direction God can guide our family too! Thank you for speaking about ownership and how much benefit it provides the family unit! Such a blessing indeed 🤍🌷 life’s luxuries aren’t always money but freedom, flexibility, and family time 🕊️

So excited to hear about your cookbook coming out! Love watching you bake and cook and create all those yummy looking dishes!! Wishing you a speedy recovery from your injury! Seeing Logan so hands on in the kitchen warms my heart! (upcoming little chef in the making) You guys are so talented and love how you share your knowledge about different things with us. Sour dough crackers??!! I'm ready for it!!! Thanks for sharing with us!
  • Nikki!!!! This was not "random". Your encouragement to start a business was like the millionth confirmation that this is the path to be on. I have to forget about the fear/questions/doubts and move forward. I agree that it's harder to get a job nowadays because I've been trying. I know God is trying to position His people and not only have us in place, but also bless us with the freedom and peace that comes from not being in crazy work environments. Thank you. I needed this nudge/push. 💗

What an encouraging video!! Thank you so much for sharing ❤
  • @CrissieB442
Where are the jars you use for pickling from? X
  • Love seeing what you do with brown butter in your recipes! I work at a local small batch ice creamery and for our fall menu we do a butter pecan and add brown butter into it! It’s so good!
  • Starting a channel nowadays is definitely harder, with the massive amount of content already available online. However, I truly believe that persevering through the challenge is what will make all the difference in the end. As someone who is just starting out, I can attest that creating content has been an absolute blast and I never even planned on starting a podcast, but someone recommended that the topic of my channel would be a perfect fit for Spotify. Watching your content over the years has been a true inspiration, and your videos on how to start a channel and interviews with other creators have been helpful.
  • Oh, I can maybe help you out with the sourdough crackers :) I've tried at least 10 recipes and this is the one my family likes best: Mix 100g discard starter, 75g whole wheat flour, 30g olive or coconut oil, 40g nuts or seeds of your choice (I like mixing pine nuts, sunflower seeds and ground flaxseed) and 3 tsp of any Italian spice mix. Roll the dough out thinly between 2 layers of baking paper, cut into little pieces and sprinkle some seasalt flakes on top. Bake at 180°C (don't know Fahrenheit, sorry ^^) for 20-22min :)
  • Lol, I'm actually glad you clarified about your jobs/income. I assumed you were both still content creators after the move but you never know I guess. Just curious, how many hours a day/week do you each put in to work?
