3:04:24 this section about Fujita and Brookings was actually pretty beautiful. It’s nice when something can come out of so awful. It sounds like they genuinely were kind to each other and he was regretful for his actions. Thanks for including the aftermath of this particular bombing.

The usual K&G style (smooth animations with zoom in+out, callout labels with pictures/names, etc.) is put to extremely good use here - I feel like this captures the sheer scale of the Pacific war like nothing else I've seen on YT so far. Kudos!
  • It wasn't just the loss of ships and aircraft, but the irreplaceable losses of trained aircrew and, often ignored and forgotten, the loss of trained technical crewmen. Not having an in-depth plan for recruitment and training meant depletions in resources incurred permanent reductions in capability. A serious oversight . . .

  • This video was awesome. It covered so many operations that are usually brushed over or not covered at all by other historians. Particularly between Pearl Harbor and Midway, my knowledge of many things covered is now filled with much that I need to further study. Thank you so much for the great video.

It is always hard to listen to a flawed plan, especially when you know the ending.
