There's something magical going on in that corner tower of the central building. Each time the birds pass it, they just disappear. Then again, the birds are glowing green, maybe they are even magical themselves. Let's see: There's a flock of nine birds. They always disappear somewhere close to the upper two windows of that corner tower, but they don't enter it. Shortly after, they reappear somewhere in the sky above the camera (or rather crystal ball or whatever this magical device might be). The way I see it, there are two options: 1. There's some kind of magical field around the tower that's caused by something inside the tower. Maybe there's a magical object with the purpose to protect its surroundings and therefore it teleports every living creature entering its magical field about a hundred feet away. This teleportation causes the affected creatures to glow in a green light for a short time. The birds on the other hand are drawn to that magical field by their senses and so they keep flying over there and being teleported back away. 2. The birds are trapped in a time loop. They initially flew too close to that tower which, again, holds a magical object with a magical field surrounding it. However, in this scenario the birds are not exactly teleported, but they are cursed to relive the last 5 seconds of their life again and again and they have no influence on it whatsoever. The curse forces them to fly the exact same way to that tower, then be rewinded to 5 seconds in the past, rinse and repeat. The curse also causes them to glow green as long as it's leading their life. One's a trap, the other's a curse, both caused by a magical field surrounding a magical object which is being held in that corner tower of the central building. Either way, there's only one way to free the birds from their miserable fate: The object has to be destroyed. Maybe one day there will be a brave hero humble enough to risk his life even for a little creature like a bird. Until then those nine green glowing birds are doomed to fly the exact same hundred feet towards that corner tower again and again.
