The Gary Matthews Jr catch to me is in the top 3 all time. He took his eyes off the ball, had about half a second to track it, then caught it blind. Still makes my jaw drop.

Jim Edmonds going full speed and completely laying out with this back facing home plate is the greatest catch of all time! Andruw Jones over the shoulder "Spiderman" catch is also top 10.

Otis Nixon climbing 12 foot wall to rob Andy van-slyke was the best I've ever seen. The Jim Edmonds catch with the angels was also a top 5 all time at least. Jeter making a running catch and then diving in the front row isn't anywhere near the top catches of all time.

Wheres Dwayne Wise Jr. When he saved the Perfect game for Mark Buehlre
  • For me, the Kevin Mitchell barehand on the warning track is the greatest catch ever.
  • The most underrated catch is Ron Swaboda catch in game 4 of the 1969 World Series for the Miracle Mets.

Jeter doesn't belong on this list. Edmonds has 3 catches that belong. Andruw Jones has 2 and there are countless others including Griffey breaking his wrist on a catch.

What's amazing about #9 is that Devon White turned that great catch into a triple play in the World Series. It's too bad the ump missed it. Jays won their 1st championship despite bad officiating throughout

You have Jim Edmonds second best catch.

Souza's catch is #1 for me. No-hitter on the line, final out, and he absolutely sends it to preserve history.

Two words: Ron Swoboda Five more words: Game 4, 1969 World Series

The Endy Chavez catch is the best catch I have ever seen, and it could not have come at a more important time.

Willie Mays was always my favorite growing up as a baseball loving child...he was a legend, sure, but he was also the nicest guy ever...easy to appreciate how he gave his all on the field. RIP...God bless his family! I am now watching the wonderful tribute to him in Alabama between the Cardinals and the Giants...great stadium where he played in the Negro League as a young man.

Otis Nixon's gem of a catch is often overlooked. Kept the winning streak alive and was so well timed.
  • @elarvo7363
Juan Uribe in ‘05 World Series diving into the stands similar to Jeter Dwayne Wise robbing a home run in the 9th inning of Buehrle’s perfect game Both of those beat the cute Griffey catch but I might be biased
  • @macdisciple
Yeah. As a NYer the Chavez catch always comes to mind first. I thought the stage would be set for heroics in the bottom of the inning when Chavez came to bat, but... :(
  • @rpc717
Ron Swoboda in the '69 Series
  • Otis Nixon being snubbed is a shame. The old Fulton county fence was like 12 feet and he caught that ball almost another 2 feet above the fence. It also had HUGE implications as it was in the midst of the race to the playoffs with the pirates that lead to the famous sid bream slide.
