About The Boys: THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It's the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

The young Stan Edgar is such great casting; he nails the voice, the cadence and the mannerisms so perfectly
  • Soldier Boy even has the eccentric lip quiver that Homelander also has... That acting is just something you don't see every day.
  • I love how Soldier Boy being potrayed more like a star celebrity in his days than God figure like Homelander
  • @silversurfs
What an handsome fella this Black Noir, he probably has a beautiful future ahead of him
  • @EliteAsian14
the young stan edgar and young grace mallory are incredible. they are nailing the exact mannerisms and cadences as the older counterparts
  • I only just realised that the reason Edgar is eating almonds is in order to assert dominance over Noir. He essentially uses the supes’ weaknesses to keep them under control.
  • It's really sad to see that Noir was basically just a kid, and all this horrible stuff keeps happening to him, first when he was in Payback, and then as a member of the Seven. He's really one of the most tragic characters in the show

You can tell how uncomfortable and awkward Soldier Boy gets in 4:05 - 4:13 Him and Homelander have their moments where you can see their humorous unbreakable strongman facade break it’s amazing to watch
  • @moneyae1914
His death was so sad. The cartoon element reflecting his “child like mind” mixed with his faith was beautiful and sad all together
  • The biggest “we’re not doing anything from the comics” stunt of all time. I love it.
  • I could tell that was Stan Edgar, that young actor perfectly captures his mannerisms as well as body language.
  • I think on thing people don’t realise is Soldier Boys facial flinches while he’s talking to Grace. The writers kinda made foreshadowing that he is Homelander’s father because when they get upset or pissed they twitch in their faces
  • I cannot get over how well he portrayed a young edgar, or really a young Giancarlo. Everything was Spot on Edgar! That is acting if ever I’ve seen it
  • I love that Stan eats nuts infront of Black Noir. Shows that he can do something Noir can't
  • @mistadj
I'll admit...the way they killed him off was the worst thing in the show. He been this strong silent character this whole time. And went out without a punch...and cowardly
  • 2:52 I love how a later episode reveals what Stan and Noir where talking about. Nice foreshadowing.
  • I’m just realizing the reason they made black noir wear a mask is because he’s black and people at that time would be critical of a black supe 😭😭

Unlike a lot of folks, I absolutely ADORED the Black Noir Twist in the graphic novels, but also enjoyed their portrayal here, so now I’m REALLY interested (and slightly worried) how they are going to handle the differences, but I’m confident they will 🙂

young stan and young grace are amazing - you can tell Stan has his intellect and planning all strung out but he hasn't matched that ideal likability just yet. Grace has that passion and that foresight but she hasn't hit her level of peak authority. its great writing and acting.
