Club G Records releases Empire Of Illusion by Wildflower. Wildflower has such a wonderful story behind the song that we couldn't wait to write it down in his own words: 'The vocals, sung by Israeli singer Imbalmusic refer to two socio-political ideas which I thought might be an interesting challenge to fit very succinctly into a progressive trance track. 'Empire of Illusion' itself is directly taken from the title of a book by the same name by journalist Chris Hedges where he criticizes the decline of literacy in our societies and the rise of spectacle, celebrity, and 'electronic' hallucinations. This electronic music track is an effort, not uncommon in electronic music to enter fully into the electronic realm and reemerge with some genuine human meaning as I never found electronic music to be particularly 'false' or illegitimate being influenced by classic electronic music albums such as New Order's 'Power, Corruption and Lies'. The second idea, social exclusion is defined by Levitas et al. (in their report The Multi-dimensional Analysis of Social Exclusion) as their working definition: Social exclusion is a complex and multi-dimensional process. It involves the lack or denial of resources, rights, goods and services, and the inability to participate in the normal relationships and activities, available to the majority of people in a society, whether in economic, social, cultural or political arenas. It affects both the quality of life of individuals and the equity and cohesion of society as a whole.'
