The Great War | World War 1 in Countryballs (Part 1)

At the time known as The Great War, World War 1 was a conflict that involved all major powers. Though the conflict started between Austria-Hungary and Serbia, due to the system of alliances, more nations would come to join the war effort in support of their allies. The two rival coalitions were the Entente, or Allies, and the Central Powers. I would argue that the German Empire was the main aggressor of the war, intending to capitalize on the conflict to acquire new territories and expand its influence.

This is the biggest project I've ever worked on for this channel. I thought the First World War needed its proper time in the oven, and thus, I present to you all my magnum opus. Part 1 features the largest cast of characters ever in one of my videos. If I remember correctly, the previous video with the most voice actors had 6 people. But for this project, I wanted to include many of the people who've helped me voice characters in the past. And so, for this video, there's a grand total of 18 different characters. Thank you so much for everyone's performances. It was really fun to animate all of your work! This is also by far the longest video I've ever produced. I have finally made it past the 40-minute mark. And with that comes a script of 13 pages. I gave it my best to write each character with their personalities and relationships with other characters in a way that reflects the external policies of the countries. Once again, all the voice actors have done a superb job bringing these characters to life. I appreciate it! I have drawn new backgrounds to replace existing ones such as the White House, London, Paris, etc. I tried to change the color palette to resemble my older videos, which overall have a blue-green hue. Drawing all the maps has been a real challenge; there are probably dozens on my iPad that I've had to create for this video. But with close inspection and research, I've tried my best to show an accurate picture of the war using maps. Drawing new backgrounds has also been pretty time-consuming. It had been a while since I made illustrations, so I had to get the hang of it again. But I'm happy with how the backgrounds for the new locations turned out, such as Berlin, Japan, New York City, and multiple instances of the European countryside. Animating this has been a real headache; it always has been. I've had to manually place the keyframes for the characters every time they switch facial expressions. Every time anything moves on screen, I was behind it all. Manually. With a project this big and complex, I've pushed the limits of my computer, and it was really difficult to work with. If I were to make a part 2, I'd definitely need a new computer to accommodate my usage. But I'm happy with how the project turned out. As you can see, there is a lot of work behind all of this. Besides voice acting, I am the only person behind everything. As much as I love working on projects like this one because the end result is quite rewarding, I grow quite frustrated when I don't get the performance I need for my channel to be profitable. I won't go into it right now because I want this moment to be optimistic. But I'm not a big fan of going through so much to get one video done just for it to underperform. I need to pay bills, and it just doesn't make sense for me to continue if things go downhill. Having said this, I will only allow myself to make part 2 once I reach $100 per month on Patreon. If you'd like to help me continue the series, please consider doing so over there. You'll get behind-the-scenes footage and updates on my new projects. I have also been considering writing a book series. I intended to study animation so that one day I could have my own animated show. But for various reasons, which are linked to why I left this channel as well, I decided to leave that behind. So, I thought of turning my idea for the show into a book series, details of which will be shared on Patreon. Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed my new video. I wish I could promise more videos on the way, but I'll see how this video performs. Please understand that there's a lot of work behind all of this, so if you could comment on the voice actors' performances, the writing, the illustrations, and such, I would really appreciate it.

I absolutely loved the video. It felt do cinematic and the script felt like it was written with golden ink. The relationship between the characters, they felt connected and it was just perfect. I also loved that your aninations felt smoother and i believe you added more expressions to them. The voice actors did an awesome job at portraying their characters and felt like the perfect voice for the character too. I never thought this vid would be this cinematic! Good Job, Koral and the voice actors. You guys did an excellent job at making the video the best it could be. I hope this video blows up, you deserve way more views. Please don't give up, Koral. You have a loyal fanbase who watch your videos everyday, I and my sister love watching your videos and you don't know the excitement i got when I saw it on the gonna premiere soon screen. This is my favorite video of yours by far and by a huge margin too. Keep going Koral, You'll be a very popular history YouTuber soon, just you wait. Lovely short film ❤ EDIT: I recommend you to remove "in Countryballs" from the title since that would limit the video to a countryball audience. I recommend "in a nutshell" but probably not the best considering the length of the video but find out... make the title and thumbnail engaging! I find the thumbnail quite engaging btw... I recommend making it maybe less darker and gloomy cuz YouTube sorta hates that but i love it and it fits the nature of war but it's your wish.
