The wild blackberry season is coming to an end. We’ve put enough blackberries into the freezer so now it’s time to put some in jars. Normally blackberries are canned in a sugar syrup but when you’re eating KETO, sugar is not an option. This recipes shows that you CAN preserve blackberries without sugar.

***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****

Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.

We put out new videos every week! We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

Thank you so much for introducing fruit without sugar. I’m diabetic, and it’s hard to get recipes without sugar.
  • I have the same canning book (Canadian version) and have never even noticed the part about using just water lol... great to see you pioneering a path for us to keto canning! much appreciated!
  • I have 15 Apache and 15 Arapaho blackberries bushes. We have harvested 20 GALLONS of berries so far. We will probably get 4-6 more gallons. I'm extremely happy with these plants. I planted them in spring of 2023.

Been canning fruit forever in water only and freezing them also with no sugar. You will not miss the sugar. Great video
  • I have canned blueberries in water for years. We use these in smoothies, water and all. One half-pint jar is perfect.
  • I haven't even watched it yet and I had to say, I'm here for any sugar free/keto friendly canning tips! OK, now I'll watch, lol
  • As others have said, I have the same book and never noticed the "canning with water" part! I LOVE this! Thank you so much!

Kevin’s blackberry picking outfit is giving serious tropic thunder vibes and I’m here for it.
  • Thank you so much for this video. I grow strawberries, raspberries, tay berries, blueberries and thornless black berries. It takes all of a seven cubic feet freezer. I am also on a keto diet and this will certainly help me preserve my berries in a keto friendly way and free up more freezer space.
  • Love this video so detailed and explaining of processed including Ball book. Great recipe for low carb no sugar added diets. 👨‍🌾
  • @CreepingThyme
I call my ball canning books my “Canning Bibles” lol.
  • Thanks for sharing with us Sarah. Fantastic information about canning. You do a great job keeping things safe. Keep up the great videos and the fun you all have around there. Fred.
  • Great tip for using empty jars to fill the empty space. Have you tried a steam canner? Game changer!!
  • @Cherie5353
What a beautiful view from where your blackberries are planted! ❤❤❤❤ Oh my heart ♥️
  • @terrysandiego
Confession: I'm sitting here eating marshmallows while I watch you do sugarless canning.... Just ordered the book.
  • @jholcomb9532
What a timely video! We have gallons of wild blackberries in our freezer and I am Carnivore, but I do eat berries. This will be a perfect solution! Note: I did just can some blackberry jam using Allulose and it turned out amazing, I've gone through one jar already. I like a little in some full-fat yogurt, or Carnivore ice cream. Thanks for the info!
  • @straubdavid9
I will be checking the wild blackberry situation shortly here in central PA .... maybe even today. I'm a Keto/Carnivore wannabe .... and info like this will help me "tow the line". Take care Sarah & Kevin .... best of luck with all your harvesting🚜🍅🍓🫑🌶🥬✌🏻
  • @kex246
Thank you very much for this great canning lesson!
  • If I was lucky enough to have a freeze dryer. I would freeze dry them.
