BalloonSat Flight Footage

Published 2017-11-16
This is GoPro footage from the Gateway to Space launch at 7am on 11/11/17.

The BalloonSat was launched out of Windsor, CO, and traveled to an altitude of 100,300 ft above sea level. It landed in a farm near Stirling and was recovered around 1pm.

My team's payload gathered data on sustainable cosmic radiation shielding using three Geiger counters as well as gathering environmental data (temperature, pressure, humidity) and accelerometer data for the flight. Our payload weighed 875 grams and was flown on a balloon with the other experiments from the Gateway to Space class at CU Boulder.

Thanks to Chris Koehler, the Gateway CAs, COSGC, EOSS, and the entire Gateway class for making this happen, and thanks to my team for all of the hard work that went into this mission.
