The flat cap is having a resurgence right now mostly due to the absolutely incredible BBC series Peaky Blinders, which is a show about gangsters in Birmingham in the 1920s. The style in the show is fantastic, and I’d love to see a video on it

Wearing Panama for more than 10 years while on vacation:) Nothing beats it.

Hey Marine, When I went through Infantry Officer School at Ft Benning in 1981 the M1951 was called a Ranger Patrol Cap and was easy to roll up and put into your cargo pocket. The modern-day Army field cap is a descendant of those old Ranger Caps. Semper Fi Marine.
  • The Indiana Jones movies got me into the fedoras, and I have a Indiana Jones looking fedora I wear with my brown leather jacket. I avoid cotton watch caps because if they get wet they are useless. Wool on the other hand, retains something like 90% it's ability to help keep you warm even when it's wet. Thanks for another great video.

Hey Antonio I want to let you know that you have been a great influence on my life :) Last year I was a high school.student and we had kickboxing for PE class. There was this new Kickboxing trainer and because of you I initially introduced myself, he is shocked and says "....You're polite..? You're like the only one loool" Lmaooo it felt so good. When I marry and meet my wife's parents for the first time I'm gonna be watching your manners video 24/7 lmaoooo

It's impressive how much information is given out in this, and every RMRS video! I realize other channels can be quite informative as well. However, the style and delivery here is so effective that I can hear Antonio's voice when I'm shopping for clothes now
  • My favorite cold weather hat is my Royal Navy officer's beret. Traded for it with a British frigate when I served as the OPS officer of a USN fleet oilier.
  • Australian here. We love our Akubras for good reason. It's like one of those brand names like "Hoover" or "Windsurfer" or "Frisbee" where the brand becomes synonymous with the object, so "Akubra" and "hat" are almost interchangeable. But there's another style of hat which is very popular here, and very practical: the straw beach hat. Breathable, light, and wide brimmed, it gives you a lot of protection from the sun. It's not just for beach wear. Australians are pretty informal people and the beach hat seldom looks out of place. Even at night in the rain.

Baseball caps, in a tiny Texas town of 1000 that's all everyone wears, except an occasional western hat. As for me, I have several nice baseball caps of different colors to match what I'm wearing. I hope to get some nicer hats in the near future. Thanks for the video.

Thank you for mentionning the ushanka. I bought myself two model, one casual wich is grey with a blue-ish fur and a black one I wear on special occasions. I removed the the soviet brooch on both for obvious reasons. They’re so efficient to protect, I like to say you have a complete immunity to cold while wearing this
  • Stormy cromers are without a doubt (in my opinion) the best cold weather hat you can get. My great grandfather wore them, and absolutely loved them.
  • A point about the bowler that many people don't realise is that its relatively tight fit around the head coupled with its high crown allows you to wear it in turbulent weather but have your hair completely untouched. Unlike caps, the inside of the bowler is mostly not in contact with the hair at all.
  • Love how you jump straight into the content, no bullshit at the beginning about Raid Shadow Legends or whatever
  • I have a capsule wardrobe and have five hats (which is a lot when I say it out loud). • Watchcap (beanie folded yo twice) which I wear often for Fall and Winter. (I have one in black and one in navy). • Flatcap. It’s a light tweed which I can wear in the Fall, Winter, and Spring • Yukon hat. This one is a heavier tweed and has flaps I can tie up or bring down for really cold weather. I placed a small Knights of Columbus enamel pin up front. • Dad hat. It’s a navy cap with a small 👌 outline. It was $5 and wanted to have a cap leisurely days.
  • @defensebydesign
I've become quite the hat collector, so this was a fun one to watch!
  • A picture of Lester Young wearing a pork pie hat. Very impressive.
  • @mikerojas0329
Started incorporating the flat caps Into my wardrobe and I love them. I’m slowly starting to work in the fedoras.

I bought a trilby a couple years ago, and I basically got it cuz it was the single hat I found anywhere that actually fit my head. I stopped wearing it a while ago cuz I started wearing more "casual" clothes due to suits not being too fit for my work. But a couple weeks ago I got into a chinese store nearby and found a flat cap that has the folding bit shown in the video, so I bought it right away and haven't stopped using it, but besides being the right fit, it was also about $3 and was the only one in the store. A couple days later though, I found the same one in brown on another store, and again, was the only one there so I got that one too. I've never been much of a hat person, but oh boy does it feel great to wear one when it fits you just right.
  • @neilmoomey
Excellent video. Photos taken before 1865 feature bowlers because the cowboy hat wasn't invented yet. John B Stetson invented it in 1865 and they became popular however most could not afford one. Most Stetsons were made of beaver and his first hat sold for a $5 gold coin. They have always been expensive and still are. A Stetson beaver felt hat today is over $1000. The cheaper versions are rabbit/hare felt and some are mixed with beaver. I recently bought a pure European rabbit felt Stetson cowboy hat for $250 and it's a very nice hat indeed. I sprayed it with felt hat protector to make it water proof. It's very comfortable, stylish and practical to wear. Would love a pure beaver felt hat someday. I feel a western hat is the most stylish hat of all and many ladies agree. The tall cattleman crown makes me look taller and my face narrower. A pinch crown fedora makes my face look fatter.
