The “parents calling police on misbehaving kid” happend to me. In MY DAYS they had an app that you can call fake polices, my mom used it to scare me.

I think the whole tooth fairy thing was because when kids start losing their baby teeth some might freak out or start to miss their teeth (kids are weird), so the idea of being rewarded for losing their baby teeth by a mystical entity was introduced to help them feel better about the whole process.

the concept of getting us kids to believe in Santa seemed really, REALLY important to my mom. and since I had a younger sibling I just went along with it. this went on for so long that when I was 21 my mom suddenly decided that she needed to tell me the truth. I must have been a good actor

The tooth fairy always kinda creeped me out. What does she do with the teeth? So with my kids, when they lose a tooth im just gonna say "Nice job. Have a dollar." And give them a dollar. None of that tooth fairy crap. Just. Money. Right there. On the spot.
