I love how they both speak very highly of eachother. Knowing how this all industry is, there could have easily been a big rivalry that lead them to hating eachother out of jealousy.

Wow I didn't know this story at all. When Kanye went to paris fashion show I remember how he was made fun of on all the top fashion blogs. Virgil is right, now seeing rappers at fashion shows is normal. Even seeing NBA stars dressing in high fashion is. He really pioneered a new era in black fashion and doesnt get the credit he deserves.

this is quite the story. it kind of shows that this world needs extreme people like Kanye to pave the path and then more "reasonable" people like Virgil to take the helm. lots of lessons you can pull from this

Very well done! I was so proud of Kanye when he went to Virgil’s LV show. My heart broke for him. It’s almost not fair to call Virgil an apprentice to Kanye. He seemed like much more of a creative partner and the one who was giving Kanye’s ideas life. It’s so sad that he died so young.

Kanye didn't realize at the time that he wasn't destined to work for LV, he was destined to create a billion dollar fashion empire himself. Whenever a door closes, it is always because the better path for you is in a different direction.
