I was a teenager in the 70s and we had the greatest R&B and funk music of all time timesless that's all I listen to till this day
  • I'm 62 and I still believe Strawberry Letter 23 by the Brothers Johnson that came out in 1977 is still the best song ever. If you were around in those days remember how the 45 of that record had a strawberry scent. Amazing. Thanks for the post reelblack.
  • I can careless about the audio people, I’m grateful for this upload.

It makes me happy that I am a direct bloodline descendant to Tammi Terrell known for her beloved voice which dominated the 70s. This documentary is LIFE.

A fascinating period piece from 1979. There was so much fantastic music from black artists in the 70s and their influence across genres was incredible.

Wish the sound was better, but this is f*ckin dope! Thank you so much for this.

Funk with no mention of Larry Graham, the inventor of the slap bass? Jazz fusion with no mention of Weather Report, five Down Beat magazine Albums of the Year? Overall, not a bad documentary. But, these omissions surprised me.

Regarding the sound: This is coming from a 35MM film that quite possibly is warped and suffering from deterioration.
