Search for the Wild Roses, Duck watching and a Fawn (Whitemud Creek Valley Walk in June)

Published 2024-07-05
In early June I wanted to look for the Wild Roses that bloom around the Whitemud Creek valley. I also took some time to watch the various ducks and other birds, and had some lucky sightings of White-tailed Deer, and even a fawn! Tag along to hear my observations.

I mentioned the Bachelor Mallard drake I had watched a few years ago. Here is that video, a compilation of my observations of him throughout the spring:    • Duck Drama (Tale of a Mallard Drake)

With your sweet fawn surprise on the walk, I was delightfully surprised to see your dancing squirrel. A lovely peaceful walk Donna, even with the Mallard drama. Thank you for the wonderful views of the nature around you including those beautiful wildflowers and fungi. Best regards, Cathy

I just love your appreciation and ability to see the simple things in your surroundings that others miss. You really should write books, blogs, or whatever. I love this type of storytelling you do for us. Thank you! Enjoy your weekend.

Hi Donna. Thank you for calming nature views and gorgeous flowers, wild roses, strawberries and lovely wildlife. It’s amazing what you get to see if you just get outdoors and enjoy it. Beautiful place! 👍😊🇨🇦

Donna recently I received a few photos and a short video of a gorgeous village in France from my cousin and I commented, " Isn't the world a beautiful place?" Today I watched your video and I must make the same comment - yet different. "Isn't the world a beautiful place?" Mother Nature at it's best Donna. Not beautiful painted walls and tiled mozaic images but the fawn, the squirrel the plants, trees and water. Thank you dear Donna for your love of nature and sharing that which you encounter. Most endearing to watch. 🇨🇦🙏🇳🇱🙋‍♀🥝

Awesome to see the ducks. Beautiful variety of wildflowers everywhere. Those horsetails are pretty neat looking. You found a keg. Someone must have had a party! LOL. Nice closeup of Chip or Dale. Those chipmunks don't usually stick around for a photo shoot. Well done on your adventure. Have a great day.

  • You always find the most breathtaking places. Interesting how canopy of leaves can get mistaken for poison ivy! I never thought of that before but I can completely see why. The wild roses are so beautiful. Wild strawberries, how fun! The goldeneye swimming is so cool, I would have mistaken it for a duck if it wasn't for your helpful narration. Love the bird songs. Lovely spot for a snack and so cute the chipmunk is also looking for a snack! :) Always love your nature adventures. Your narrations feel so professional and well done, it feels like I'm watching National Geographic, I love it!! You do so great.
