Okay but Derek Redmond and his dad absolutely made me cry. His physical and mental pain is so evident, and his dad jumping in straight away to help his son finish. I can't T_T
  • It’s awesome seeing so many coaches so quickly rising to help rival athletes. It never gets old to me. πŸ₯Ί
  • @dandygirl6
the spliced medals tho, that is so dope
  • @Kharmatos13
just saw a new one to add to this collection, the two high jumpers just decided to share gold with their tie.
  • In the Sailing one, Lawrence was in 2nd place but gave that up to help the team
  • One of my favourite stories is how the Australian Peter Norman supported Tommie Smith and John Carlos during their Black Power salute and suggesting they share the pair of gloves. Just standing there quietly supporting in solidarity, even though it would impact his career. I believe the Americans were even pallbearers at his funeral.

After all there is something which is beautifully called as humanity πŸ’œ

At the end of the day, I think anyone from any country would be even more proud of their athletes for helping out others in need as opposed to finish a race for a medal. Under any circumstance. At least, I know I would for Canada.

Cross country skiing is a saint’s sport apparently
  • This video doesn’t mention one of the sweetest details of #7. Philip Boit and Bjorn Daehlie remained friends and Boit named his son Daehlie after him!

5:00 There is NO way they should have been running a boat race in that weather! What were they thinking?!
  • Medals are nice, but it is the spirit that embodies that which we call the Olympic Games!

the woman who helped the other woman when she hurt herself in the track meet is a legend to me πŸ’—πŸ’—

there is darkness and then there is hope...... with so many athletes coming up with so. much of positive energy there is no space for anything bad..... there is juat pure spirit sportsmanship and beautiful stories along with some. medals

Just as I said to my mum the other day, the world is full of kind people, but everyone fails to see this and only look at the negatives.
  • @sueweisberg1474
I have loved the support the athletes have given each other
  • Despite the professionalism in today's Olympics, the spirit survives in its athletes. If this world can have some semblence of unity, it will only be through sport; mark my words.

This should be updated with Tambieri jumping with happiness when he got to share πŸ₯‡
