'Improvised' piece in G# Major

Hey there! Just wondered if I could ask you a question? I saw your comment, on 'learning counterpoint by listening to Bach and Beethoven,etc', and just wanted to know if it'd be possible for you to delve into that a bit? If you have any tips, on what really helped you, how you went about it, etc, I'd love to know! (For context, one thing I've been trying to do, that I picked up from that Peter Schubert guy: listen to a snippet of melody from a classical piece. learn it and then try to 'answer' it; then try to add a bass note for each part (or try to figure out the bass from the original). transpose that once or twice, and maybe add to it.) A very good piece. Reminds me of Bach WTC 2 no 2 in C minor. And wow! Only 20 minutes. But wait. G# Major doesn't exist. Ab Major does.
