Once he said " I am Antonio Carluccio" in that accent I put my full trust in him

Italians have a knack for turning just a few simple ingredients into something that absolutely sings. It’s like magic.
  • @215ILLicit
I trust him on the basis of his accent.

I had the pleasure of meeting him at the opening of one of his restaurants about 10 years ago now. I told him how my Mum makes spaghetti bolognese and he just shook his head haha. He then wrote down a recipe for ragu bolognese - the genuine way they make it in Italy - and it blows what we in the UK think spag bol is out of the water. He even gave me a couple of packs of his own pasta to go with it. Such a nice guy and brilliant chef. RIP...

Antonio, you will be missed. Such a gentle heart. The greatness of this man is that even though he struggled with depression, he managed to be a gentle person. Regardless of his cooking skills as a chef. Rest in peace!

How sad I just found out about this guy and he’s already passed. Just based off this first video I already love Antonio Carluccio. While this whole coronavirus passes I’ll be at home trying to cook his recipes. RIP Antonio.
  • @Abelhawk
He may be gone from this world, but his avatar of Italian knowledge lives on in these videos to teach new cooks forever.
