I love how this animation did everything to convince us that the teen was being a selfish twat, only for the ending to reveal his kindness. Very entertaining and well executed!

This poem had had me moved when I read it years back. Nice to see a film version. The Cookie Thief by Valerie Cox A woman was waiting at an airport one night, With several long hours before her flight. She hunted for a book in the airport shops, Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. She was engrossed in her book but happened to see, That the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be... Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between, Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene. So she munched the cookies and watched the clock, As the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, Thinking, “If I wasn’t so nice, I would blacken his eye.” With each cookie she took, he took one too, When only one was left, she wondered what he would do. With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh, He took the last cookie and broke it in half. He offered her half, as he ate the other, She snatched it from him and thought… Oooh, brother. This guy has some nerve and he’s also rude, Why he didn’t even show any gratitude! She had never known when she had been so galled, And sighed with relief when her flight was called. She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, Refusing to look back at the thieving ingrate. She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat, Then she sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise, There was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes. If mine are here, she moaned in despair, The others were his, and he tried to share. Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief.

She ate his cookie, crushed his cookie, yelled at him incessantly, and judged him unfairly. But he was still a good sport with a sense of humor. Love it.
  • I use this video all the time as an educator to teach perspective taking, problem solving, and story retell. Great job!!!

Did anyone notice it said on his phone  “What are you doing” “Still messin with this old lady” "She's about to-" leave 2:43
  • @nelson7585
This dude is the most calm an collected person I have ever seen
  • I love how the lady's rage trying to get it out of the machine somewhat foreshadows the fact that she actually was the one in the wrong, especially since the guy never loses his cool and even tries to share at the end.

Esta corta anécdota la leí en un libro, y verla ahora en vídeo es genial! Gracias! Bendiciones!

Moral of the story: We must know about the truth before blaming any innocent
  • Thank you for this lovely film. I use it in my ESL class to encourage students to tell me what is happening. We LOVE the ending and the value of this story. Great work!

I used this for a school project on non-verbal communication. Awesome job!

So no one is talking about how energetic this old woman is??
  • One of the very best short films out there, an absolute favourite. Also, note how the young fellow puts the empty packet of biscuits in the bin, when she left it on the bench.
  • I like how he was first seen as being selfish and rude but really he was actually being really nice to her. I’m glad they didn’t portray him as being a bad teen.

I love this animation, can’t stop watching it after two years ❤️

I love how he was texting someone: “I’m messin with this old lady”

Some of the cutest most heartwarming trolling I've ever seen lmao. He's not a saint but it's adorable that he'd rather share his cookies so that he can troll her than just tell her that she opened his package by mistake.
  • @bvlaire
One of my favorite animations to watch when I was a kid, now here I am coming back after 7 years.
