There are 5 seasons in the Balkans: Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring and War

It's more "divide and conquer" than a "powder kegg", and considering what Western Europeans did to each other since medieval times until WWII, Balkans is pretty much civilised.

Actually, Romania became independent also in 1878, through the same Berlin treaty. In 1881 only the form of state was changed, from Principality to Kingdom.

A fun fact. In WW1 Bulgaria allied with the German Empire, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottoman empire - after that they all collapsed. In WW2 Bulgaria allied with Nazi Germany - after the war it collapsed. In the cold war Bulgaria allied with the USSR - later it also collapsed. Now Bulgaria has allied with NATO the consequences are yet to be revealed.

General Knowledge: Talks about the balkans Balkan people: Want to start a fight?!
  • And why are we problematic? Because someone was always making us fight (The “Great“ countries). And who blames us? They.

11:59 a united Balkans would not have been to the liking of the great powers (NATO and Rusia, both)
