QSL was originally meant to be used to acknowledge receipt of a formal message. In particular using CW not Voice. Most all Q-codes were intended for CW operations only. Today, QSL is often misused to denote that a transmission was received, whether or not it contained a formal message. It is also misused in place of Yes, Roger, or affirmative. QSL Card is the Confirmation of a QSO. Getting and exchanging QSL Cards used to be an exciting thing to see in your mailbox. Many old hand operators often refuse to misuse the term QSL not because they are trying to be rude, but because of it's true intended use on CW or exchanging actual Paper QSL Cards.
  • I don't log digital mode contacts - feels like cheating to me. No difference to using Team Speak or Discord. Not a proper contact. I enjoy your uploads - thank you.

The digital modes are pretty bad. DMR has too many issues with volume levels, and the chinese equipment is garbage. Dstar cant route a call to save its life, outside of major reflectors. They both sound like utter crap, although dstar is the worst.
