ADDITIONAL NOTES:

DESIGN
Includes silicone wing tips now
Improved ear tips that don’t get clogged
7.5/30 hrs battery
Qi wireless charging: 8 min = 1 hr
Aesthetics - I LOVE the fabric case
Now 3 colors available (black graphite, white silver, black copper)
IP54 certified

FIT TEST
Solid, secure fit. If it’s warm out and you move a lot, they can work their way out of sweaty ears. The fins can prevent this quite well

COMFORT TEST
I wore this on a 6 hour flight and slept for about three hours with these in the whole time. They successfully blocked out a crying baby on a redeye flight

ANC
Adaptive ANC
ANC test
Very subtle white noise
Always adaptive – I wish I could just max it out and have total silence where I cannot hear my keys typing

TRANSPARENCY
Transparency test

SOUND
Adjust sound via personalized profiles, 5 band EQ, sound zones, sound check, or pre configured
Snapdragon Sound and the S5 Sound Gen 2 platform. AptX lossless codec delivers lossless audio with low latency
These support up to 24 bit 96kHz audio - I got the lossless audio firmware update already
Claimed latency of less than 20ms

MICROPHONE TEST

FEATURES
Auracast (available via firmware update)
LE Audio
Bluetooth 5.4
Multipoint connectivity = YES
Auto play/pause = YES
Battery protection mode for a longer lifespan
App tour - the app was actually nicely redesigned
Controls are FULLY customizable

CONS
They are still a bit large. The redesign last year was great, but there are smaller options out there
Not ideal for running or working out - the sport ones would be better for that
Auracast is not available yet
$50 more than previous gen, but the same as gen 1 and gen 2. Actually if you account for inflation, gen 1 would be $367 in today’s dollars

PRICE: $299

CONCLUSION:
These are genuinely futureproof. If you buy these, you might not need a new pair for quite a few years. This is a common tech theme now
Pretty much everything on my checklist for earbuds exists here. Sennheiser, if you’re watching this, great job!
The only things I would like to see next year would be better ANC and better earbud locating features - much like AirPods UWB finding abilities
Although I still lost my airpods 3 and I have yet to ever lose sennheiser buds
These are nearly perfect earbuds. ANC is the only compromise. My personal favorites for working at my desk or just hanging ou

Thanks for your review & feedback, Mike. Much appreciated!

Sennheiser, we need you to get rid of that annoying white noise in transparency mode and the occasional hissing noise Mike talked about in ANC!!! 💯
  • @marcosalino4729
Great review, i have the TW 3 and it is criminal they Sennheiser is not rolling out battery protection for other models too!
  • @isaactan5790
Great video as usual❤! Would love to see comparison with the AZ80s! I have a question, have you been facing issues with auto connect with your pixel phone? It seems to be a common problem for pixel phones as i look through reddit, and im wondering if you've had similar issues?
  • @bjperryjr4664
Great thorough review 💯👍 I really want these BUT after the issues with the 3s, I feel like it’d be best to wait a lil bit to make sure these don’t have the same issues. I really enjoy their earbuds too ** The sport version that’s coming out look really interesting to me as well **

Great review Mike as usual! As far as suggested comparisons, I would love to hear your thoughts comparing the MTW 4's to the Technics AZ 80's and/or the B&O Beoplay EX's.
  • @EthanFromLondon
Please do a comparison video of these with Beoplay EX since they are my all time favourite.
  • @SimonPhoenixUA
After your review of the previous generation, I bought them for myself. Will it happen again now?)) The microphone does sound better, I think.

Technics AZ 80, Jabra Elite 10, Denon Pearl Pro, Sony XM5 and Audio Technica ATH-TWX 9 - suggestions for your comparison video please. Thank you. 😁
  • I went from the MTW2 to the MTW4. The musical brilliance of the MTW4 is amazing. However, there are some areas where the MTW2 is better in my opinion. These are: 1) Transparent hearing mode on MTW2 is better. The MTW4 system constantly tries to artificially suppress external noise, especially when the mode is set to anything less than maximum. Becomes very apparent in areas that have air co systems. I almost started to feel nauseous. 2) While the fit is nice, the long term wear of the MTW4 can be a bit painful depending on your earshape 3) The sound personalisation is a great concept, but it's really hard to keep mids in check on these. Random high hat slashes can seem really harsh. 4) Some of the instrument placement can seem a little artificial. Is it worth to upgrade? Purely on the basis of clarity, it's a yes. But bear in mind the upgrade isn't perfect...there is a very good reason why the MTW2 still retail at close to the level of the newly released MTW4.
  • @PabloTheThinker
How do they compare with the Jabra Elite 10 and Active 8 as far as ANC and secure fit?
  • @JC-wj3hx
Review the Donner Dobuds One.. they are so good on a budget!
  • @jtsandig
I have the og true wireless. Would this be a upgrade that would be worth it no question asked?
  • @SaltyArmy
Well now I'm looking for another pair since my AirPod Pro 2 right earbud just gave out. And I've got the Momentum 3s. However, now I need a backup pair and I was debating between these, Bose, or the top Sony. I'm just wondering how redundant of a purchase this might be since my 3s work just fine. However, knowing that these have been by far my best Earbuds I've ever owned; I fully understand that eventually something always happens to these things. So here I am listening to this on my Momentum 3s debating on my next purchase while working right now. Any suggestions for my next purchase to have a decent backup pair for work? 🤔

Nice video Mike! 🙌 Just wondering on which device did you test out the HD Snapdragon sound and Apt X Adaptive, since the S24 Ultra and Google Pixel 8 Pro don't support these codex?? Really like this case and it's not so big some people makes them out to be. At least they look nice, premium cloth material, stands up right and doesn't scratch easily (unlike the Air Pods)!! But I wish the charging port is at the back!! This black copper colour is so sic!! Don't know why they came out with with white case?!? The mic quality souded decent, even in heavy traffic. Wish you could have tested the wind reduction feature. Did you use the personalised EQ? Or just the standard EQ? Wish you could have commented on what difference the personalised EQ made!!

Great video, as usual! I don’t see a lot of reviews for the TOZO T20. I know that company puts out a lot of earbuds; some decent, others not so much. But I’m curious if you’ve tried these. They are the best-sounding buds I’ve listened to, under $50. More like $30 on Amazon. Rich, boomy bass but also respectable instrument separation. Qi charging, independent use, decent call quality. They definitely stay in during a run. I like the battery level display on the case while charging. I really can’t say enough. The T20’s are a bit of a homerun for their brand.
