Is it possible to beat Borderlands 2 with only the Evil Smasher? What if we tried it in 2024? Can we beat Borderlands with only the biggest nerfed gun in history? Borderlands, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-sequel, and Borderlands 3 all have guns that can get pretty wacky, but wacky doesn't always mean good. In this challenge run, we try to beat the game with only the once-powerful Evil Smasher! Want to see me try this challenge with a different gun, grenade, or shield? Comment below on what gun, grenade, or even shield I should try next! Any gun in any game (Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, Borderlands 3, or Wonderlands!)
The date was April 2nd 2013, and Gearbox just released the patch that would drive the evil smasher into an early grave, never to be taken seriously ever again. 10 years have passed since then and archaeologists have rediscovered the remains of this once powerful weapon, and then I stole it because I wanted to know, Can you beat Borderlands 2 with only the evil smasher? For the rules on this run we will be playing on UVHM OP10, for the new players or the players that never touched this game since the nerf, that pretty just means enemies have 4 times health, health regen, and they're all 10 levels higher than us. BAR will not be allowed for this run and the evil smasher is the only gun we’re allowed to use. Also just to be clear, The evil smasher glitch is not allowed. This might be common sense because it was patched out but the way we use it kind of makes it seem like I'm using a glitch but ill explain that more later. Also, we will be playing as Krieg but melee will not be allowed for this run. I know I know not letting Krieg do his favorite thing is a war crime but the run would devolve into a pure melee run really fast. As for the gear, I'll be using a basic shield, vault hunter relic for funny drops, a low-level slag grenade because Krieg has no slagging skills, if you're one of those people and want to see the slagless version of this run I'll have a link to that in the description. and the legendary reaper classmod, mainly for blood-bath and the extra kill skill duration. Here is a quick peek at the build, feel free to ask questions about it in the comment section, and I'll answer when I can. With all that out of the way let's hop into the run. Right off the bat, we can't really fight anything because the evil smasher is garbage, instead, we have to start farming to activate its effect. Every time you attempt to reload this gun you have a 7% chance to get a bunch of stat boosts that last for the duration of that mag. For simplicity, I'll refer to these powered-up mags as Smasher Mags. Anyway, you See what I mean when I say this looks like I'm doing a glitch. Anyway, after seeing this explosion in front of us or hearing the activation sound we have 26 rounds to fight with, which lets us kill about 2 bad guys assuming they were slagged before we run off to try.

Fun fact: when you're defending the beacon for the fast travel, you can just enter the bar, save quit, load, leave the bar, repair the beacon, go back in the bar, then repeat this about 8 times it finishes the defense part of the mission without having to fight a single loader or constructors

Not letting Krieg commit war crimes with his buzzsaw axe is 100% a war crime. We should take all your weapons, and force you to do a jump damage only playthrough as punishment 😈

it took me a build breakdown at 4:21 to realize how cool this gun would actually be if not for OP10 bullshit scaling and what seems to be a massive "fuck you" kind of nerf Evil Smasher received just because players was too naughty with it

fun fact: the fridge is actually optional! once you enter the fridge you can just leave and enter the highands through the dust. You do need to runs through the first part of the highlands outwash in reverse to trigger the sequence of sanctuary phasing back in but hey you dont need to deal with rats

13:27 Here, I counted 15 reloads, so the chance of at least one proccing a Smasher mag was 66.23% You're slightly more likely to land an instakill move in a Pokemon game against an opponent 4 levels lower than you than Gasmask was to not get at least one Smasher mag

Random unrelated thing I think is super hilarious, the first time I saw an EXP loader I though it was a rare spawn that gives you a ton of exp and ran right up to it to mag dump into it you can guess what happend next
