Facebook ignores woman's plea for months after scammers take over account

Social media is a great tool to stay connected. But it’s also a great tool for criminals, not only because of the information people share but also because the platform doesn’t do much when someone has been hacked.

Exactly, facebook doesn't even care if you're hacked. That's why I don't even share anything personal online.

I live 20 minutes from Facebook and even if you go in person, they say they cannot help you and they ask you to leave

It's inside scams. Someone broke into mine & snooped back thru 6 yrs worth of funny pics & memes to ban me for 30 days & then opened an old Mafia Wars account I had which was de activated for 12 yrs & changed the pw. So i have an open profile account i cant close. Person acted out of NY, NY.

Am I missing something. The messages they showed look like this person didnt go to the page suggested by the customer support agent but instead tried to have her friend report the account as an "impersonating" account violating "community standards" which it isnt , its a hacked account? Although it does look like she found a lawyer instead. I think the proper thing was to report the account as hacked not "impersonating".

Horrible this woman lost so much, but I can help her get it all back - even the interest.
