  • Altitude training is live high train low. Wouldn't heat adaptation while off the bike be better ?

    He alluded to this, but studies have shown you can get heat acclimation through 30-minute hot baths after your workouts. It sort of undermines his product, but it’s been repeatedly confirmed
  • I lived as an expat in Bangladesh and I used to run all the time there. Extremely hot and extremely humid. All my other expat friends agreed that when we got back to Europe or America the first 2 miles were “free”

    Zone 2 rides with high heat helps a lot because when it's cooler you can feel how much better shape you're in

    Looking forward to the takeaways from this video. I just did an unplanned experiment while bikepacking through Central America on around the world trip. I struggled in the high humidity, high heat steep terrain 😅. My dog Mira did just fine 🤗💕🐕

    Once again Garmin has dropped the ball. Back in 2011 I was using a Garmin Tempe sensor attached to the heart side of my heart rate monitor. I had to use a Garmin outdoor unit to record the temperature from the sensor. I was even able to fit the sensor to the inside of my helmet on some rides. Problem was/is the Garmin Tempe does not connect to Garmin Edge head units!!! BTW I live in Bermuda where the summer the temperature hits 85-90 with 80%-90% humidity. I found it beneficial using the Tempe to keep track of my skin temperature especially riding indoors during the summer. It appears if my skin temp went above 95 I would start to blow up on the bike. I will be checking out the CORE sensor!!
  • I don't understand why Remco did his heat training outside in Europe in late winter or very early spring. Indoors would be hotter, but maybe too hot?
  • I find my best cycling performances in Ireland is done on very warm days, like 25 degrees C. The muscles need to be at a good temperature, and everything runs better than on a cold day. It's why we cycle better in summer than winter, not just because more time is spent cycling in warmer weather. Of course, too hot, and it's bad for performance, but there is a just-right temperature.
  • I will guarantee you probably about half way through the Tour, or after a couple of "real" mountain stages, Remco will come down with covid, or some unknown by science illness or another fake mechanical in the last 3 km of a stage! When are people gunna wake up to the fact he aint a big GT winner! Yes he won the Vuelta, but take a closer look at those stages, and how "many" time trials there were, and who were the riders that were left in the race? He is a classics rider, and at best a Paris nice guy, nothing more, wake up!
