A Day on the Old Philadelphia to New York Main Line ©

Summertime is coming to an end -- but the business of the Northeast Corridor keeps on going. Enjoy as we spend the day seeing high-speed rail action at New Jersey Transit's Hamilton and Princeton Junction Stations. My Grandmother took me out for the whole day, one of many great days spent watching trains with her. Highlights of the day include: A rear end cab ride on a Northeast Corridor Train and the Princeton Junction Shuttle Train, a rare Amtrak tie train with two diesel switchers, and my Chicken Finger Meal while having lunch at PJ's Pancake House! I hope that you enjoy a Day on the Old Philadelphia to New York Mainline!

  • Thanks very much Eric! I'm glad you liked it. I was happy to see the tie train, too. I had seen it from onboard before, but until then I never had the privilege to see it from the platform. And yeah, the K5LA Doppler effect was surprising to me.
  • Thanks, Tyler! And you should, Hamilton and PJC are excellent spots and you get TONS of trains!
  • LOL! No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed! I was so confused when that was coming. An NJT comet set was actually STILL IN VIEW heading north, and the signal was slow approach. Then I saw a light heading on their tail. I had no idea it was the tie train until it was pretty much in the station!

Excellent video as always! Loved that tie train at the end.
  • Awesome video Kyle! Never seen a view out the end of an NEC train. And finally another trip to Hamilton!

Ah didn't catch the Princeton Junction Shuttle part. Great video! The concrete tie train catch is especially cool!
  • I know about PJC's past! Even in 2014, the Acela Express hits 171 MPH while going past Princeton Junction
