  • Yeah, you certainly wouldn't expect this kind of "affection points" system from an RPG Maker without variables. So this is certainly a really cool feature. Northwind is probably the best choice for a partner, but Iyen would have also been nice for our hero to marry.
  • 15:20 outside of battle, the "Cure Paralysis" Item effect instead cures petrification. So to anyone working with RM1 today - what you actually want to do is create a magic spell that has a "Cure Paralysis" effect. Then set the item to be "Magic", and tie that spell to it. Because the "Cure Paralysis" spell works properly out of battle, this item will work properly as well. On a side note, I recommend doing the same with the "Revive" items as well. That way, the item will be properly grayed out outside of battles, since nobody needs reviving outside of battles.
