UK parliament descends into chaos over Gaza ceasefire vote

Dozens of lawmakers stormed out of Britain's parliament on Wednesday with tempers flaring as the three biggest political parties sought to outmanoeuvre each other over a vote on a ceasefire in Gaza. The uproar followed a decision by the speaker to ignore precedent and allow a vote which helped the opposition Labour Party avoid a large-scale rebellion among its own lawmakers over its position on the Israel-Hamas war. Lawmakers from the governing Conservatives and the opposition Scottish National Party (SNP) left the debating chamber in protest and some tried to take the rare step of holding proceedings in private. The speaker, Lindsay Hoyle, eventually apologised and said he had made his decision to allow lawmakers to vote on a range of views because he was concerned about their security after some had faced threats of violence over their stance on the war.

My goodness we pay everyone of those MPs over 85000 pounds per year + expences for such juvenile behavior, they are a sorry disgraceful bunch.
-
To become a member of parliament in the UK you must shout "yeeeeeeeeees" very loudly every 10 seconds...
-
Why does the house of commons always sound like a child's pantomime when you close your eyes?
-
Its ridiculous. Theyre laughing, jeering, bickering, screaming and shouting. Can you imagine even small children behaving this way in school? I understand there needs to be impassioned debate", but this is a mockery of that
-
The House Of Geriatrics and insane.
-
What a bunch of school children we have for government ffs
-
Has there ever been a bigger disconnect between the system and the people? On issues that British people do have serious and justified concerns about, politicians do nothing. They need to be removed and replaced with people who do want to deal with the real issues we face asap for all our sakes.
-
this government reflects the state of this country, people all working people need to rise up and change it all
-
We always have arguments about foreign issues but can't even look after ourselves.
-
Like Israel could give a rats backside about what the uk parliament says.
-
I find it hilariously ridiculous that the official way to vote is initially “who can shout the loudest”
-
If this is how MPs behave in parliament what hope is there for a government to function properly. Disgraceful behaviour. Western democracy in the UK isn't fit for purpose. Imagine seeing this behaviour in business or education.
-
Shame they are not as passionate about domestic affairs.
-
They're not fit for purpose
-
Absolutely shambles. Pity this lot dont get this animated when it comes to issues in our own country that is actually relevant to us
-
This, folks, is why decent 'normal' people are nowhere to be seen in politics. I would be ashamed to be seen amongst this shower.
-
Wow. Domestic issues usually empty. But when political mileage Full. Of course plus expenses.
-
And this vote doesnt even matter:
-
Imagine if this lot tried to get an actual job, they’d be in a disciplinary and potentially dismissed with this kind of ill behaviour, yet we continue to pay their wages
-
An outdated system having a barney about something we have no control over with added farmyard noises ? Embarrassing
