Do ancient aliens theorists and Atlantis proponents selectively choose which carbon dates to accept, or do they have a scientific principle guiding them?

  • Actually, Tiwanaku was built by aliens as a set for an episode of a galactic, reality-television series. Ya'll got pumapunku'd
  • @TheLeppus28
Alt-Ancient History people can't really explain anything. All they say is: "they surely could not build it with their primitive tools!"
  • @canaanval
I thought you were wearing some strange Roman tunic in the thumbnail LOL
  • @neoclassic09
The ruins there are mind boggling, regardless of age
  • @MWhaleK
You have to give the Alt Ancient History people one thing, they come up with some weird and fun stories.
  • @EdNarculus
It's called 'Analogical Reasoning Based Cognitive Archaeology'. Where you compare using things you saw on youtube and make it up as you go. That's the principle!
  • @giannixx
Not to mention that carbon dating seems to only be accurate and reliable when it is convenient.
  • @derfret1365
this one's pretty easy to explain. I interpret all data depending on how it relates to the things I want to believe. What the evidence is and how it's found is secondary
  • @fuferito
Sorry. I heard nothing. I was too distracted by the colour-blind test shirt Prof. Miano is wearing.

Why do conspiracy theorists think that some carbon dating results are better than others? If you replace "better" with "more believable to a true believer", then you'll understand why some carbon dates are better than others, to a true believer, the goal is to discover evidence that supports the belief. If contradictory evidence feels like a personal attack, then you might be a true believer. To someone who's trying to get clicks and views, you would replace "better" with "more enticing". Which is "better", of 2 possible videos: 1. New evidence suggests Puma Punku was built after AD 500. 2. Scientists find 20,000 year old pyramid in the jungle. If you chose 2, Clickbait Anonymous has already helped thousands of people who chose 2, and you could be next. There probably should be a chapter near you!
  • It's like how the presence of an unknown landmass on some old map is shocking proof of a lost continent, while the absence of that same landmass on all other maps produced during the same time doesn't mean anything.
  • @iMshadab
my man, the nightmare of atlantians 🤣
  • @Soapy-chan
easy, one date confirms their delusions and the others don't

It's crazy to observe the massive cut marks similar to a giant circular saw - The errors are astounding if you consider how would one not notice such a deviation when cutting with 'sand abrasion techniques' which would be observed early on and corrected. To many Gaps and Team Mentality along with 'everything is a tomb' theory get's old.

Things conventional historians can't explain: the feed rate of drill cores in granite being 500x as fast as what we use on modern machinery today
  • Tiwanaku is really a bad site overall due to how it’s been managed. For centuries it was scavenged, and even stones were taken out of it to build other stuff in other areas nearby. But in the mid 1900’s, the Bolivian government saw a chance to increase tourism and started literally remodelling the site. Not rebuilding or restoring, but outright remodelling. Many will claim “this could not be made with modern tools” when in fact, a lot of it was indeed made anew with modern tools and materials. A lot of it is plaster, concrete, and even freaking drywall. Recently, UNESCO even questioned wether it could still be considered a historical heritage site when so much of it is new. And many constructions and buildings have been outirght built from scratch by modern architects wanting to attract tourism. So yeah. Tiwanaku is no longer ancient. It is pretty much modern, heck, some stuff is still being built over it to this day and being passed as ancient.

Puma Punku is magical. Ancient aliens say it is made out of granite but that is the weirdest looking soft granite I ever seen... Must be magic, unless they are lying or don't know what granite even looks like of course. But I heard weirder thing today, some alt history guy were explaining to me that Antarctica was a jungle 5000 because heat from the Earths core. As evidence he told me mountains were colder high up because they were further from the earth. My comment about sunlight, thin air and greenhouse gases was laughed off.
