Jace arrives on the Valorian space station, greeted by its impressive technology and Commander Theron, who introduces him to the "Victorious," a damaged warship. Despite the Valorians' advanced tech and a malfunctioning hyperdrive core deemed irreparable, Jace's experience and skepticism toward the word "irreparable" push him to take on the challenge. He discovers the real issue—a minor component causing significant problems due to a small, overlooked flaw. Jace's proposal of a stabilization technique over simple replacement intrigues Theron, granting Jace a week to prove his unconventional methods and potentially save the "Victorious."

“Help us, Obi Wan Kenobi, you’re our only hope.” 😆 The author really loves that “obsidian.”

One coupling stabilized. One coupling de-stabilized. BINGO!
  • @teamidris
They are always obsidian or iridescent :D

Great story of working together. I an 77 years ild and so sick of war war war . Humanity is better than this.
  • Bastard aliens couldn't even give this guy a med bed to help him with his Energies
  • @sirbum1918
If they replaced a broken component with a new one of the same specification and it didn't work, then how could the darn thing work to begin with?
  • @singledad1313
So aliens can't fix their own ship so they hire a human. And then they immediately, before he even looks at the ship, begin to treat him with hostility, distrust, doubt, and disdain. So why did they even hire him!? If I was Jace I would have told them to go pound sand and fix their own damn ship.

The background must be "Space Trucker Lo-fi Beats to study to" Just needs a Alien cat to the side >.<

exactly why a coupled component tends to be frowned upon. my message is favor decoupling when possible but coupling has its place
  • @Bobbyo60
I really enjoyed this one. It flowed well, and was actually believable. Well done!

For someone to have destabilized the replacement coupling, wouldn't they had to have been on board the station? Or would they have come from the production facility already hacked? If the former, they weren't a good enough spy to let the boys back home know what was incoming.

It was designed to work up to a certain percentage and then to create a resonate instability, think tecumseh bridge
  • @rb2712
    Finally entities working together

Oh. Different story? I heard the 'Dying Alien Ark gets fixed by Humans' just a few days ago. 5:45 Isn't that related to topography? The Mobius strip? A small change affecting the entirety?
