We're going to see a lot of car dealerships go out of business over the next 4 to 12 months due to way overbidding at auctions and not being able to sell inventory. This isn't just for G-wagons, but for everything. The reckoning is coming, it just needs a little bit more time.
  • A bunch of rich dealership owners and luxury car buyers get screwed by their own greed. This video makes me feel warm and fuzzy.

“If we can get a good deal 30 or 40k over sticker”😂😂😂 2022 for ya
  • It’s Ziegler MB of Hoffman Estates. Literally have no idea what they were thinking buying every single one of them they could get their hands on. Had rows and rows of them on their lot like they were Ford Taurus’s in the 1980’s
  • My finance professor's friend had a G63 on order and the Mercedes dealership paid him 30k just to not pick it up
  • Ah finally people getting what they deserve. It's dealers like those that screwed me out of getting myself a new truck.
  • Honestly the dealers deserve to feel the pain -
  • @sdvten
I will never feel bad for any car dealership under any circumstance.

I have to admit, I have never understood the G Wagon allure.
  • This is funny to watch. I work at a large Mercedes dealership in northern california and we were selling g63's at 100000 over msrp like hot cakes, couldn't keep them in stock. During one of the friday meetings our GSM was talking about the Illinois dealership that had like 125 g wagons in stock just buying up everything and how we needed to get some used ones back in stock. A lady who buys cars from us every 6moths or so traded in here 2021 g63 and I believe we gave her like 230k for it. Once mercedes made the announcement they were re making the g wagons we couldn't give that thing away. It sat for like 200 days and finally we sold it at like a 55k loss. I cant only imagine what the Illinois dealership is going through. I'm sure that buyer is fired.
  • Good guest, bring this guy back Ed! All car dealer guys have plenty of great stories!
  • “What are we doing here?” Everyone was asking themselves that during the 2020-2022 car market.
  • Banks giving out loans of 120-125% is BAD! I worked in the mortgage industry back in 2007/2008 and this is the same exact thing that caused the bubble to pop.
  • I love this story. Love seeing people lose their ass on speculation which this is basically what it was.
  • @fiercenet
I remember watching the original G wagon crash test commercial... seeing for the first time was so cool.
  • I've got the much older G55, it drives like a truck but it'll go through almost anything, the up keep can be eyewateringly expensive but I've had it for about 10yrs, Rj in Oz
  • @gfolo1919
The price went up partly on supply but because of the ppp loans and sba loans. Qualifies for 179 tax exemption.
  • @jrocxzs
I wonder if the G wagons will ever end up like some 600/65AMG models that are able to be picked up for under $15K
