The Transformative Power of Self Acceptance

Published 2023-05-28
It can be difficult to change our behavior, our habits, our persistent unpleasant emotional state. But what happens when we accept ourselves just as we are, and begin to approach these issues with curiosity and compassion?

What I love in this guy is the serenity he projects. Nowadays there is too much fear and pasive agressive people. This dude is a moment of peace.

The curious paradox is that once I accept myself just the way I am, I can become the person I want to be - Carl Rogers. What you resist, persists - Carl Gustav Jung

I have inattentive ADHD so I identify with the shame. I was given shame over the course of my childhood. I tried to recorrect myself and I ended up being a people pleaser because I was tired of disappointing people so I have to work on that too. It's a hot mess. Thank you for the video ❀.
  • Wonderful. So well explained. So insightful and compassionate. πŸ™

I only listen to what you post when the title speaks to where I am struggling. Each time I listen, I get something deep from it ... precisely because you are not trying to provide any ultimate answer, but because you are reminding me (and all of those who can hear it) that for each of us, the answer lies within ourselves. This one, as I listen to it today (9 days after it was posted) reminds me that any transformation of myself will come from the acceptance of myself (which means, to me, the recognition that my self in any moment is all that it can be, but is capable of moving beyond that moment ... the fluidity of "self" which is the openness to becoming ... and is most capable of this movement by accepting the (fluid) self of the moment.

Thank you for this confirmation. This is the very process that I'm going through. There's an acceptance, opening up, and letting go happening at the age of 48 that I've only hoped for in earlier years. Divine Source bless you and everyone.

Thanks for the short video. It is a privilege to be able to listen to these. You are the best!!
  • Thanks for these insights, I've always struggled with self-love, judgements and acceptance for numerous reasons stemmed from childhood (being fostered, adopted, having a neurological disorder and a stutter). I've ended up operating in the false self rather than the Authentic Self since adolescence. I'm now seeing the light and slowly working through the darkness and reconnecting whilst cultivating gratitude and self-love. Namaste.
  • I always come back to this video. Thank you for sharing it means so much to me.
